Jack
:schocked: :schocked: :schocked: Try this link me and Jack used him with 2 GMC's and was very reasonable and nice chap. http://www.hmvf.co.uk/index.php?option=com_smf&Itemid=38&topic=4934.0 Might be cheaper worth a try. Mention about the guys with the GMC which the wheel fell off, he voiced his concerns to Roadsure... SPTA team
Just been reading the rest of this thread and it seems some want to bring tracks, has the powers that be been made aware of this, as I know they can be very fussy about tracked vehicles on their turff ..... Only posted this as I would hate for people to be stoped after bringing them all that way. R Cubed The MOD are well aware of tracked vehicles coming on this visit. As long as we stay on the stone tracks they don't have a problem with it. Last year we had two tracked vehicles with us, a FV432 + FV434. I have given Bob at West Down everything he needs to know including the use of tracked heavys which the CMDT has given us his approval. All he asked me for on Friday was how many vehicles were coming. Tony

SPTA team
Just a few pictures off the camp site. Please bear in mind we have not cut the grass, this will be done closer to the time. The first three pictures are of the front hard standing , Dragons teeth and the grassed area for tents and wheeled vehicles. http://i144.photobucket.com/albums/r183/plainmilitary/what%20this/IMG_4891.jpg[/img] http://i144.photobucket.com/albums/r183/plainmilitary/what%20this/IMG_4890.jpg[/img] http://i144.photobucket.com/albums/r183/plainmilitary/what%20this/IMG_4892.jpg[/img] The grassed area exstends right to the very edge of the wood and back to the hedge. The pub is just behind the big hedge. The next three pictures show the veiw looking from the grass back to the woods. http://i144.photobucket.com/albums/r183/plainmilitary/what%20this/IMG_4895.jpg[/img] http://i144.photobucket.com/albums/r183/plainmilitary/what%20this/IMG_4898.jpg[/img] http://i144.photobucket.com/albums/r183/plainmilitary/what%20this/IMG_4896.jpg[/img] As you can see this time of year it can get a bit wet. There are plenty of gaps in the trees to set up your tents, vehicles and cammo nets. The next four pictures show the rear of the wood and the rear hard standing. http://i144.photobucket.com/albums/r183/plainmilitary/what%20this/IMG_4912.jpg[/img] http://i144.photobucket.com/albums/r183/plainmilitary/what%20this/IMG_4908.jpg[/img] http://i144.photobucket.com/albums/r183/plainmilitary/what%20this/IMG_4911.jpg[/img] http://i144.photobucket.com/albums/r183/plainmilitary/what%20this/IMG_4913.jpg[/img] Once again there are plenty of places amongst the trees to set up your tents if you wish. It does mean a bit longer to walk to the pub and back again. The last picture is the road that gives you access to the rear of the woods and the grassed area. http://i144.photobucket.com/albums/r183/plainmilitary/what%20this/IMG_4915.jpg[/img] So guys and gals thats about it, it don't come much wilder than this. We will be placing porter loos in and around the camp site so no need to bring shovles. I will leave it up to you to fight it out who gets the woods and who gets the grass area. Personaly I would like to see all the tracked vehicles bloking all routes through the trees but its your weekend, and your choice. Do you have space available? FYI: it's a 30' twin wheel trailer with a gross weight of 10 tonnes.

Markheliops
Maybe he'll get Neil to tow the WLF round with the Stollie  Actually my tall friend - Hans my mate and co-owner of the 432 will be attending the Plains trip - all the way from Germany. As he does not have an H licence, it is an excellent opportunity for him to drive the 432 over some excellent ground. I shall be giving a display of "How to drive a Ward La France correctly" - without banging your knees and crunching the gearbox.!!! :pfrt: Markheliops

Mrs Hardyferret
As stated in the other thread - we will be there with pig and/or IIa lightweight if he gets the total restorationson done in time. Jerry is in hard training already for the skittles :box: you know how competitive he is. The date is marked on next years planner in large indelible letters - so it is nonnegotiable. :-D Perhaps I should mention at this point that I will not be held responsible for any 'Jolly Japes' or such like that my husband may get up to once he is loose on the plain :dunno: you have been warned. john fox
Where in Surrey? - We'll be going from Coulsdon. I'm Bookham so you'll go very near me if using A3 or M25. Alternatively I could meet you further up at my other house in Egham if you use the M3. Would be delighted to hook up closer to the time and settle arrangements PS I should have made clear in my original post that I am looking for a vehicle commander to help me when I drive down there. In return (subject to a person's ability) I would be happy to share the off road driving on the plain with them. Preference would therefore be given to anyone able to do the whole return trip to/from Surrey and who has experience in judging road traffic (ie sorry but no solo children)
sean101ryan
I'm planning to come across from Ireland for this with 101, trailer and a 9x9.
