chevpol
Spotted yesterday on M1 near Watford Gap services, heading north on back of low loader at approx 9.30ish, a M10 tank destroyer hull and turret, and approx 30 mins later, also heading north near M1/M25 junction, a WW11 Morris Commercial in grey(?) on back of low loader. Anybody on here taking delivery of new toys? Mark
marvinthemartian
Saw this yesterday afternoon while stopping off for a quick break on return from Devon. Services on M4 at Leigh? I think it was. Huffing great Oshkosh tank transporter and load. Think there was more than one in the convoy, as happened to join M4 about 500 yards in front of another one. Unfortunately I parked my motorhome in the car park, and saw this as I was walking into the services.

The chains holding the back of that Challenger should be crossed. The way they are does nothing to stop the tank moving sideways across the trailer (it can and does happen). Runflat
A couple of WW1 taggers-on to this year's London-Brighton veteren car run - a Pierce-Arrow lorry run by the "OLD Friends Antique Rapid Transit" (yes - I know!); and a well known Vauxhall D type staff car, which looked and sounded gorgeous. The Pierce-Arrow has been seen supporting this event before: http://forum.planetalk.net/viewtopic.php?t=5155&sid=8cdce0ec076806dc652b443ebb123eac And a picture on the web of the grand ol' girl: http://good-wallpapers.com/wall.php?category=auto&id=10253&width=1280&ratio=1.

Pzkpfw-e
In a compound, back of the chinky at Colsterworth. A mutilated Bedford. Not sure if it has military origins. Also, tucked away in a shed at the woodyard, next to Withams, is a (I think) Matador with a crane back.

g0ozs
Dear All Anyone know what species of CVR(T) this is ? - it was awaiting recovery at Manningtree station roundabout this afternoon - I did speak to the driver briefly and he said he had called for another tracked MV to tow it home, but couldn't stay around to see - hopefully they got moved before it got dark. bonnie_scott
Hi Iain, It's a 432 fitted with what's called a Peak Engineering Turret for a General Purpose MG. There are several marks of these and I'm afraid my knowledge isn't good enough to tell you which. Hopefully someone else on the forum can enlighten us both Cheers, Julian
g0ozs
Thanks Julian - I didn't realise it was a 432 - I think the turret confused me because I have only seen it previously on more recent vehicles ! Regards Iain
