A pic of my current Jeep collection, bought my first one over 40 years ago, still a bit of an obsession

..from the front...

1945 Ford GPW.....complete rebuild 3 yrs ago

1944 Ford GPW....older restoration

1943 Ford GPW....unrestored very sound original Ford body

1942 Ford GPW....unrestored sound original Ford body

1960 Hotchkiss M201 ex French fire service

and they all run!

plus not in pic 1945 Willys MB restoration nearing completion, most are imports and fairly rust free...few years work ahead but the Hotchkiss and '45 Ford will be for sale soon....can't run them all, be nice to find a 1941 example that would make the complete set !

Then why has it taken me 2 whole weekends just to remove my distributor.......bl$$dy thing.

Ashley

They do tend to seize in the block if not moved for a while, I remember one of my first Jeeps many years ago the dizzy was seized so never had the clamp bolt in place, one day driving along the engine started running rough lost power and died on a hill...lo the distributor had freed itself and spun around twisting the plug leads up !

You need a bigger hammer!

Being a thin cast? alloy not recomended :nono:ended up with a chain type oil filter remover, plenty of WD40 (other brands are available :-D) blow torch and small panel beating hammer (used on the block section only)

and several hours of tapping, flaming and tugging:sweat:
