BIGREDONE Posted August 25, 2008 Posted August 25, 2008 (edited) Hi all, Some of my Military Odyssey pictures.....I attended the Saturday only, as said before seemed a lot less vehicles and re-enactors there as in previous years, the main collectors marquee was a bit void of trade stands but still a few outside. Maverick Posted August 25, 2008 Posted August 25, 2008 Can anyone post a full report on this years show and compare it to previous Oddysey's? As i didn't go this year Thanks Quote
Marmite!! Posted August 25, 2008 Posted August 25, 2008 Can anyone post a full report on this years show and compare it to previous Oddysey's? As i didn't go this year Thanks Well just spoke to Ian2b who went yesterday & he said there were loads of empty spaces.. not just in the MV section... Quote
Tony B Posted August 25, 2008 Posted August 25, 2008 There were a lot of spaces. That said some nice kit. The Royal Enfeild with the pump trailer is owned by a an ex Kent fireman that was beautiful. there were also these tucked under the tress. Quote
Snapper Posted August 25, 2008 Posted August 25, 2008 Some excellent photos. I would say, however, that many of these MVs look exactly the same as last year. But I wasn't there. MB Quote
lightweight Posted August 25, 2008 Posted August 25, 2008 I was there! Had a great weekend, got there Friday at 1600hrs and got home home 2000hrs tonight. We had a Jeep, a WC51 and a series 1 Landy with us. Spent most of the show mooching round the stalls togged up in auscam. Were some truly odd people there - Vikings, Romans, Red Indians, Cowboys, Pirates, medieval knights, American civil war re's (re-enactors), English Civil war re's, WW1 re's, WW2 re's and more! Saw some brilliant battles - the WW1 lot held a minutes silence to mark the 90th anniversary of the end of the war - very poignant moment. Found some good bits - australian light horse cap badge to go with my emu plumes, my lad got some bits of '37 webbing to go with his desert gear and my mate got some US gaiters (original) and in his size (tiny!). All in all - a good 'un as far as I'm concerned. Quote
abn deuce Posted August 25, 2008 Posted August 25, 2008 All n all some very nice vehicles , My hats off to those who took the time and expence to travel and attend the show with their O.D.. Quote
Tony B Posted August 26, 2008 Posted August 26, 2008 Did you by any chance see the 10th Essex Neuport 'Fly' over enemy lines? Quote
lightweight Posted August 26, 2008 Posted August 26, 2008 I didn't, sadly. Had promised Tim that I would be down to watch but kept bumping into people I knew and never got there! I believe that it was very funny though! Quote
Rlangham Posted August 26, 2008 Posted August 26, 2008 Great photos - the one of the 10th Essex RFC Nieuport 12 has me and my friend Lynsey behind the Lewis gun! I'll upload some of mine later, fantastic weekend Quote
