Start of the tracked saga...

Been stuck on a dratted sofa since Sunday Richard so I've not been able to go anywhere - and I do mean anywhere which has led to some innovative uses for 2 litre Coke bottles that have been modified by a sharp knife.

However - I had an e-mail from the other Richard (from Russian Trucks) telling me she had arrived safe and sound around 15:00 Hrs:

Hi Neil

Spent yesterday with Richard Moore and his team at Russian Trucks. Do you recognise this OT-90? You should - its yours.

Boy, you are really going to have some fun with it (I did!). Its very clean inside, started on the button, pulled strongly and was very responsive indeed... steering with the yolk was an odd sensation - there isn't as much 'feeling' as when you haul back on tillers - but it was, as I said, very responsive. I am extremely envious indeed.

Best wishes

John

Hi folks,

I'm back at last - what the GP said was flu was actually blood clots!! Just had 23 days in hospital and nearly never came out..

Dave - plenty of room aboard on the Plains weekend, just give us a yell on the day 'cos my memory is crap...

Thanks for the review John ;-) At least I know hull number 151 is mine now, Richard is back in Eastern Europe now so I couldn't ask. If you ever want to do a comparison between tthe OT and the 432 or NATO equivalent in CMV feel free to ask.

All the OT's Richard has were fully refurbished by the Czech gov't at an average cost of 229,000 Euro's - hence the new look! Tracks are simialar to the BMP-2 and so can have the BMP-2 track pads fitted. This is the next job to be done on mine - cost is £8K to have the tracks removed, every link drilled and countersunk twice, pads fitted and the tracks refitted.
