ajmac
After completing a masters degree at Birmingham university I worked for Jaguar, crash testing x400s before moving up to Lincoln. Now I design and commission Gas Turbine control systems, predominantly for the Oil & Gas industry. I have just moved back into the field after a three year break while my daughter was born, should be back in Qatar by May for a retrofit job then wherever I am required, usually the back end of nowhere! On a rotor, I man the Gas Turbine customer Helpdesk which is really interesting, at least while you are on it you know where you are going to be for a month! Anyone on LinkedIn? Been involved in some of the powerstation business out this way. I keep wanting to develop an inspection course similar to API for power stations, but always on the backburner. Often I find the operators dont have a good idea of what they should be inspecting and why. Mind you I guess thats a good thing

Adrian Barrell
Anyway........ I've been very limited in my employment compared to many here. Went straight from school into my fathers engineering business and 31 years later, I'm still at it. The business has changed dramatically over the years though, traditional customer bases have all but evaporated, now we mainly do structural steel and mv parts and repairs. Specialising in tanks, we usually have one or two in at any one time with parts for other stuff going through too.
nz2
Was a teacher, then moved on using my science degree into hydrology. An accident at work stopped activities, with rehab and rest then moved to operating a small orchard with my sons. Least we have the room here to store the old gear (our treasures) that are accumulated. Doug
