abn deuce
simular to a photo I posted a wile back of a Dodge WC -63 ? with a group of people and a piano . The piano could be used as inspiring the troops as in "Praise to the Lord and pass the Ammunition" Great photo.
Richard Farrant
this one puzzled me as not sure a piano on the back is going to save your bacon should you come under fire! Mike, I have come across this photo on the web before, I think it is a still from a movie, definitely not a WW2 photo from North Africa. The C8GS did not appear until 1944, and the truck in foreground has both headlights and no blackout masks. Reckon you found it on MLU forum? Reckon you found it on MLU forum? i've no idea where i saw it but i've a habit of saving pics of morriss's i come across, i agree with you, i'd say its very likely from a film, its a typical movie type shot being up high... inidentaly, should they all have blackout lamps? mine currently has both headlights, this is wrong i presume then? guess i'll be looking for some black out lamps....:shake:

The rim and glass were replaced by a blackout mask.
thedawnpatrol
While i was scouring for pics to use as reference for rebuild, i've counted 7 so far that i have seen, including mine. These are the numbers taken from the photo's i have, i havent included names or reg numbers in case anyone objects....1, Z9273401 2, Z5812347 3, Z5813657 4, Z5810792 5, Z5812885 6, Z58133442 7, one with a reg number but no bonnet number but obviously a different reg to any of the others. if anyones number is on here and objects i'll willingly remove it. i'd be very interested if anyone can add to this list? These are GS C8's that i've seen or found recent photo's of. The 2 at tilbury, are they C8's? HI heres mine to add to your list, Z5812229. Cheers Jules. morris c8 fat
Right lets get guessing whats this?and why did it happen? and where can I get a proper one to replace it?
Rick W
Spectacular exhaust failure, possibly due to timing being out? If you are lucky, there will still be a part number stamped on that exhaust as it looks fairly reasonable. If not jus find a suitable replacement, or universal fitting box. As long as the bore sizes in and out are measured it shouldnt be a problem.
Brooky
Please pm me as I worked for a large exhaust manufacturer and have helped out a couple of C8 owners with universal boxes that have done the trick

morris c8 fat
This box was less than 3 years old Ford Transit and it happend as I was losing power due to a fuel blockage I belive fuel was going through but not enough when I cleaned out the filter I thought I had sorted it but several bangs later you can see the results I will try and post some more on the walk round of the bits to take off and clean
Rick W
If its any consolation, we had a fuel issue with mine, cleaned the carb several times, checked and rechecked everything. Im still not sure what we done but somehow, somewhere we cured the problem.

mikemids
wow... didnt realise there was so much a Cobbaton! Think that justifies a trip there soon. I'll put (museum) next to those couple as they arent out and about on the show circuit as such, but still worth adding to the list to see how many are still out there? 1, Z9273401 = TAF 2, Z5812347 = Chris (milweb) 3, Z5813657 = John Wheatley 4, Z5810792 5, Z5812885 = Keith Brooker 6, Z58133442 = Mike smith ( me ) 7, one with a reg number ( 57 IF UP ) but no bonnet number but obviously a different reg to any of the others. 8, Z5812148 = Rick 9, Z5812229 = Jules 10, Z5812059 = John (00EC25 ) 11, Z3908145 = Guernsey owner. 12, Z5706948 = ( windscreen mag ) 13, Z56**539 = (museum - tilbury ) 14, Z5872952 = ( Duxford 1990 ) 15, Z1633--0 = (Southsea 1991 ) Thanks for the info guys!
