Baerdus
Hello together, thanks for your replys and your informations. Luckily I alredy have almost all the parts for the axle together like revised brake shoes, new bearings, new seal rings and shock absorber parts such as new brake linkage bellows: What i haven`t been able to get so far are the right wheel nuts. I could only get some standard nuts. The correct one have the whitworth fine thread BSF 3/8 x 20 inch and a key-width of 3/4" (instead of standard width of 5/8")Could anyone offer me 6 of them or tell me where to get them? thanks Furthermore I need some details about the rear framework to replicate it: May anybody can give me some dimensions (like the thickness of the sheet) and some detailed pictures of the srew connection? Is the trailer hitch only srewed directly on the additional sheet or is the lower srew connection screwed to the frame and the additional sheet? Thanks regards Jürgen
Jerryjeeprichard
I’ve only just picked up on this thread, great find and great restoration. Have you got fixed up with wheel nuts?
Baerdus
Hello Jerryjeeprichard, thanks for your reply, unfortunately not yet. Meanwhile i got the right BSF thread drill and i‘m just looking for 3/4“ rod material to make the nuts myself. Regards Jürgen
MB1944
Hi do you have the part number for the seals and where did you get them from please? Regards John
Baerdus
Hi John, I only could get some internal wipe seals (the original ones are external wipe seals), so i have to polish up the surface. I bought them in Germany from the following dealer in that dimension. Unfortunately there´s no common manufacturer, but the part number is 1192590, maybe it help´s you. Meanwhile the problem with the wheel-nuts is solved, we made some new ones: ... the body work is on progress ... .. next step is to set the drain holes, rebuild the rear part of the frame with the trailer hitch mount and then get sandblasting.. Anybody out there to give me some dimensions (especially the metal-sheet-thickness) of the srew connection? Thank ´s a lot. Regards Jürgen
