welbike
Nice!! is it square stock, like the originals?? G3's seem to have used a little tube?? it may be the picture though that makes it look like a tube? Ron
No it's just standard light springs. Ron
welbike
OK, I'm sure it will look good, and protect the cable. Lex
79x100
5 hours ago, welbike said: They are difficult, and I looked for them when parts hunting last monday, but nothing yet! I do have a spare of the little lever, but nothing else, think Ron got my last complete one? Cheers, Lex It's useful that you posted the photo Lex. I have a 1" G3 lever and clamp which is surplus to requirements. It was ex-dealer stock and had been blasted but hasn't been used. It's in Belgium unfortunately, but if we're quick it can be on its way before Brexit. Send me a PM if you're interested, Steve.

flyingfleasteve
With a little time on my hands due to the Welsh lockdown I have been cleaning up and piecing the gearbox together ready for painting and installation......new bearings make a world of difference. I have noticed what appears to be a broad arrow stamped on the shell alone with an extremely long gearbox number which I haven’t seen before? I am yet to find a correct gear lever for the build, is there anything particular about it or is it fairly standard?
Ron
My local bearing company managed to find me a sealed bearing for the output end. These boxes use semi fluid grease, but I still found that it pumped out through the bearing. It was a few years ago now so I can't remember if they had to get the new bearing outer or inner ground to size? Maybe worth an enquiry with a bearing firm. (Darren Wrudd perhaps). I wonder if the 1.5.48 is a rebuild date? Ron
welbike
Note that the G3WO had a different gear lever than the G3L, I think Ron's is ok, but there should be a big round boss behind the rubber, I had one in my hands last monday, but didn't buy it. Ron
No boss behind mine Lex. I can't find a picture anywhere. So WD had a boss? Why? Something else to correct. Any chance you can still buy that one you let go Lex, or a dimensions/picture to modify mine. Ron
welbike
Ah, I'll find a picture, I'll be there again on Wednesday, then I can buy one, or maybe 2. Lex
flyingfleasteve
Thanks gents.....Lex, if you can buy a couple, fantastic, currently I am lever less....I have been looking for some photos but also struggling to find some.... flyingfleasteve
Ron, I think you maybe right with the number stamped in the casing as rebuild date. 👍
welbike
Here's a picture, apearantly some of the first contracts of G3L's had them too. I'll do my best coming wednesday, but do remind me, never been so bizzy! Lex
Ron
Yes that is a G3L Lex. Do you know how the civy G3, WD G3, and G3L parts lists compare? Ron.
Ron
I just checked my parts lists Lex. The picture you posted is a G3L lever #CO-92-2 (Not designed for a rubber.) The G3 lever is #KFCO-92-2 has a rubber fitted?? Ron Edited December 27, 2020 by Ron
Ron
To add to this. Here is an early G3L parts list which shows the CO-92-2 lever with a rubber. The lever on my G3L has the "spoon" end but I can't find this in my parts lists? So please buy me one of those from your source Lex. flyingfleasteve
Hi all.....a few cold but productive days on the build.....gear box cases painted....
flyingfleasteve
The restoration of the saddle is now also underway, it wasn’t in a pretty state but slowly coming good! Just some seat springs now.....I have seen some generic Lycette replica sets available on the web, assuming these will be suitable?.
Ron
These ones in all sizes are better quality than the Indian made springs. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Motorcycle-Motorbike-Mattress-Saddle-Seat-Spring-6-5-Long/183492104769?hash=item2ab8fb5241:g:8icAAOSwG5teLFSu Ron

WD Flea
By the way happy new year to all of you. Chris
welbike
Happy new year to all! But as far as I know only some contracts had the elastic cord Lycetts, not all of the G3WO's, check out the parts list and your contract! Certainly the G3L's never used them. Cheers, Lex
