snort
GMC Post war modification tractor unit and International scissor lift cargo truck. I wondered what that scissor lift truck was, a handy tool. I had a farm trailer like that once.....used it as mobile scaffolding around the sheds!
Alex van de Wetering
Nice picture! As mentioned by Degsy and others.....both Internationals; narrow windscreen, bonnet/hood and fenders don't match GMC. Love to have one of those Clarkats.......picking up Christmas trees in the neighbourhood should be fun:-D Alex Edited January 5, 2013 by Alex van de Wetering

Goncalo Mendes
Hello all.I got some pictures of an unknown tanker in use with Italian Air Force in the early Fifties for fuel servicing to the Republic F-84G fighter-bombers. It should most probably be related to USAF than USAAF, albeit I'm not sure. It was for sure no local production since the overall styling is completely different and we used no semitrailers at that age (see the second picture for an example). The tractor is an Autocar U-7144-T but 'till now I have found no clues about the semitrailer's manufacturer and precise model. The pictures date back to 1955 and the trailers seem already worn and weathered, but the 1953 edition of TM 9-2800-1 contains nothing resembling this shape. I'd exclude the F-2A model, due to the shape of the tail behind the single axle. Any hint? T.I.A. Luca I'm also searching for the same! http://hmvf.co.uk/forumvb/showthread.php?37544-Help-identifying-a-fuel-tanker-semi-trailer&p=360462#post360462 Possibly a F2B tanker trailer? As for not being in the 1953 edition of TM 9-2800-1, maybe it is a specific to the air force, and by that time the USAAF was already a independent branch, so their specific vehicles could be absent of the army catalogue... Images are from the same photographer, Michel Duparet and I assume they were taken at same place/date. From the EXIF data, they were from 28 May 2011, maybe in a show in France? If anyone could identify the show, maybe it be possible to find more photos. Goncalo Mendes
As I posted, while searching, I found in an unrelated search/subject, that in France still existed one 40' trailer, and in restored state! However, the photo doesn't had any info, and all my search based on the trucks on the photo, lead to nothing. Fortunatly, the photographer later reply to my post (as I subscribed to the forum on that purpose), and refered the place: "La Locomotion en Fête 2013" (more likelly was in 2011, as the original date on the post). It is a great show and display of vintage vehicles in France, in the Cerny/Ferté-Alais airfield. From that, after a long and cross refered search, trough public websites, posts, online newspapers, I manage to find the owner's name, and the military vehicle association that they belong, "R.A.D.A.R.", meaning "Rassemblement Axonais Des Amis de la Résistance". The owner appear to use it as a vehicle trailer to transport their Federal tractor/semitrailer, Sherman tank, etc, to shows and exibits. They use a M51/M118 tractor to pull it. Thanks to him, this trailer was certainly saved! I only find a few images from 2011 that show the trailer, as in other more recent news and photos of their participations and exibits, they have use a proper wartime vehicle trailer to transport the vehicles. If anyone has more info and photos, please post! In case of interest, you can easily find the owner and location in the links below in the "resume" links of my search: http://club.caradisiac.com/michel-du/mack1968-14688/photo/mack-1968-m1231-1782411.html http://www.lunion.presse.fr/article/autres-actus/hermonville-il-arpente-la-france-daniel-et-son-vehicule-militaire-sont-tres-sol http://www.lunion.presse.fr/article/autres-actus/hermonville-ils-collectionnent-les-vehicules-de-guerre http://asso.radar.free.fr/ G_Mendes

Citroman
There was /is a french trucking firm Loheac that bought a lot of US army semi-tractors in the 50s as no one was wanting them. They did a lot petrol transports and later fitted lot's of them with homebuild polyester cabs. Edited July 12, 2018 by Citroman
