ajmac Posted December 5, 2012 Posted December 5, 2012 Thank Mr Grundy Who makes a fleeting appearance at the controls of the forklift what was the tacho in the bulkhead for, presumably the driver had one too? Quote
happydayz123 Posted December 6, 2012 Posted December 6, 2012 Looking good mate. Always nice to see armour up North. Regards stu Quote
Adrian Barrell Posted December 6, 2012 Posted December 6, 2012 what was the tacho in the bulkhead for, presumably the driver had one too? Indeed, the commanders speedo, for that is what it is, is to allow him to record distance rather than speed. Quote
eddy8men Posted December 6, 2012 Author Posted December 6, 2012 my plan is to have it ready for W&P next year however my plan and bob's might be different and he won't commit to a date, can't say i blame him. (it's not that kind of job) but on the plus side now the box is in and once the ancillaries are connected the engine can be run :cool2:. the spark has already started working his magic on the various circuits and i believe adrian is supplying an instrument panel so who knows we might hear the roar of the only running mk1a meteor in existence before xmas, hey i'd even settle for boxing day there is however one stumbling block to completing the restoration. the main gun !!! so if any of you fellas have a QF 75mm you'd be willing to part with or know of someone who might then give me a nudge. cheers all the best rick Quote
Old Git Posted January 9, 2013 Posted January 9, 2013 Just wondering how it's all going with this Rick, did Santa bring you a QF 75 for Christmas? I may has asked this before, but in case I haven't, I was wondering if you had any pictures of the assembly for the Final Drive as it was built up on the outside of the hull? Happy new Year mate! Rgds Pete Quote

Old Git Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 Hi Rick, can you give me a bit of info on the track links, on your vehicle. Are these Comet track links or are they the 15.5 inch tracks that were fitted to later Mk's of the Cromwell? Quote
eddy8men Posted February 21, 2013 Author Posted February 21, 2013 that's right it's fitted with the 15.5" track and not the earlier 14" or the comets 18". hopefully they will be turning soon :-D Quote
ferrettkitt Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 Saw it this morning briefly its looking good Quote
eddy8men Posted February 21, 2013 Author Posted February 21, 2013 the guys have been working on the tillers/master cylinders and the spark has been too busy to get the wiring sorted due to other commitments but it's certainly in the pipeline soon, i know i keep saying that but it's getting there ! rick Quote
