See if we can get across the bridge this year without "collecting" any more orange plastic netting!!!

ArtistsRifles
That bridge (top of Moncktons)? is smaller still or the one by the shop has been re-built, so dont break it mate. :argh: It's the one that crosses into the America's field - on the way in last year, after coming off the low-loader in the usual place, somewhere in that area a lump of orange plastic netting wrapped itself around one track. No idea where it came from but it was a bitch to cut off!!! :argh:

ArtistsRifles
Got the call from Ovendons today. The OT is being collected at 12:00 tomorrow so should be down at the Hop Farm by about 16:00. The unfortunate part is it's costing £400 each way, plus the Dartford toll surcharge of about £50 for a wide load on the way back. These prices mean this will be the last show it does - for me at least - as I will have to put "For Sale" signs on her down there...   Real bummer is the round trip would have cost about a quarter of that in diesel if she was allowed to move on her own tracks! Did I ever mention how much I absolutely hate those <censored> <censored> <censored> <censored> sons of <censored> at VOSA?? The £11.5K they had me spend would have paid a few years show attendances - instead I have to lose her.. sirhc
Neil, Perhaps you should have just bought an FV432 instead? Chris Edited July 14, 2009 by sirhc
ArtistsRifles
Neil, Perhaps you should have just bought an FV432 instead? Chris Well - if I can sell the OT that remains an option Chris. At least I have a storage location sorted this time. At the time I fancied something different and initial contact with that lot at VOSA did not indicate any problems in getting one registered. Indeed, one IS registered and in use on the roads of Northern Essex!!

Marmite!!
Yeaterday Ian, Mark & myself were invited to bring our MV's to the Hippie Festival in the adjacent field.. The HesFes... all about home education... weird bunch:confused: about 2,000 staying there:??? We had a good reception when we got there... Ian coming back from the "Love Circle" with a new friend:coffee: Things start out quite calmly... Then got manic.. Then things got a bit heated when the local CND activist came over & she tried to educate Mark:rofl:think she called him a murderer...oh dear:sweat:that went on for quite some time.. Whilst the anti-war brigade were ganging up on Mark the junior hippies took the opportunity to tag the FV432... But the organiser who invited us over soon put a rocket up his arse & made him clean it up... A strange afternoon... we were invited back last night for a drink & to watch one of the bands... The "Heroine Hospital" Ian & myself declined but Mark went back to try & find a bit more about this bunch, luckily he didn't bump into Miss. Greenham Common  Edited July 15, 2009 by Marmite!!
lightweight
Weird. In what sense was Mark a murderer exactly? Just his choice of vehicle or the hatchet he used on whoever graffiti'd the 432?

Joris
Did Mark by any chance park on a colony of ants? Or were there dead flies all over the front of his 432?

Tony B
Notice how the veggie bunch never throw things over Hells Angels in leather jackets? Congrats on upholding the hounour of the Forum and the hobby. :-D Maybe they had heard Mark sing? Any way if they feel that strongly, WHY are they supporting an organisation like the Hop Farm, that hosts Military style events?

ArtistsRifles
On more mundane topics - dropped the OT off today!! Overtons collected it a bit earlier than anticipated (I was told 12:00 - and got the call from the driver saying he was an hour away at 10:00 :shake: ) Lee & Ian turned up in their Landie as I reversed off the low-loader and escorted me back to the America's field where I parked her up in position for the show. Having paid the driver I then returned and stayed at Lee's place drinking their coffee and talking with them and Mark H. about lifting engine packs out of 432's Heading back tomorrow to stay with the caravan!!! ArtistsRifles
Sadly Mark has informed us that - due to the presence of the missus - there won't be any turret totty this year.   Unless someone else wants to take the role on????
