Hi Guys (and Gals?)

New on the forum this weekend, used to have a Champ in the late 1960's, sold it after I got married

Main interests are engines and generators, which was where I picked up the forum as I was looking for information on a BSA genny.

We (Rita & Myself) have a large 9000 page website, located on two sites, mainly for engine nuts but there's a lot of general info as well:

USA host:

http://www.oldengine.org/members/diesel

or the UK host:

http://www.stationary-engine.co.uk

It's all free, no registration, no restrictions other than what is on the first page regarding copyright etc etc.

In my early 60's now, so don't get a lot of vehicle work done these days, but still have engines to play with, and our youngest has a series 3 Landy.

I'll get my sig sorted out later with email etc.

Peter

Hello there! Which BSA you intrested in?

Hi Tony:

Specifically the BSA 300W charging sets, also made and known as the OMC / Johnson Iron Horse, Pincor / Gen-E-Motor and Cooper (Oz)

We've got 5 of the little b*ggers, 3 X BSA 30V and two Pincor 240V/12V units, which were designed for powering Wireless Set No12, a monster radio transceiver with a range of.... 60 miles.

Many thanks for the very warm welcome guys, much appreciated!

If I can help at all with diesel/electric stuff, give me a shout, and don't forget that the websites carry a lot of useful stuff as well.

There is also one site which carries old UK Patent information:

http://www.oldengine.co.uk

This is a long-term project to put up about 8000 pages of UK Patent information, scanned from original abridged patents, with the blessing of the Patent Office.

Yep got one! Well a bit of a hybrid, I was given a chore horse and a 1953 BSA set. The magneto plate and flywheel of the BSA are now fitted to the chore horse. We use it to power up HRO's in the back of Phil Web's QLR.

Hi Peter welcome to the forum,

how old is the generator, i own a Tarpen one which is BSA powered but probably later than the type you have. it was used to power all types of hand held garden machinery. Used mine last year to power lights in the garage.
