steviem
Starting the hinge repair today hopefully the last bit of welding to be done, a came across the original F mark which i understand all late MBs had.
steviem
Guess it didn't go to badly for my welding skills, now on the flank of the hood are 4 i believe decontamination screws, any one have these and do they affect stencil fitting, tried the hood blocks which had been previously welding up. steviem
Bit of a milestone to be reached on Saturday, the MB is going for final paint, father in law passed away a few months ago and is unit is now clear, so I'm taking her down there for me to paint her, it was him that advised me to pick it and it will be ironic for it to be the last vehicle to be painted there. Jerry Jeep
screws on side of hood are for the grease gun bracket and also would have the chart holder under the hood
steviem
Hi Jerry hope you are well, chart holder is still there, I'll leave the grease gun fittings just thought they may interfere with the stencils, great to see you back on forum

steviem
Overnight? To be fair the unopened paint has stood for a while of course i stirred it but probably not enough.

Jessie The Jeep
Mine on the Dodge took quite a while to dull down. I brushed it on, then went over with a glossing roller to take the brush strokes out. Coat number one was quite thin. The second coat covered well. In the end, it had four coats and dulled down nicely.
steviem
Did you dilute 4 to 1 Steve
Jessie The Jeep
No, because I was brushing it on. It was thin enough from the tin to brush out well, followed a few minutes later by the glossing roller.

earlymb
Matt white, or you could also go for the blue-grey factory hoodnumber... or both, with the white number over the blue-grey one. Maybe see if those 'U.S.' markings will come off the headlight covers? 😇
10FM68
Go for a nice bonnet number beginning with an 'M'! Commemorate a fine British unit rather than a foreign one! There's a lot to choose from with a 14 year+ timespan.
steviem
My jeep will be American, in honor of the 82nd 508pir who were based around 8 miles from me at woolaton Hall, regards the headlights was US not the done thing?
10FM68
Oh, well if it is Wollaton Hall Camp you have loads of options - it was a POW cage after the Yanks left, so you could paint yours as a beutewagen!🙂
