Zero-Five-Two
Drivers side looks very nice. Bit of a bum with the passengers glass, but if you hadn't done something with it, it would have annoyed you that it wasn't quite right.

Rootes75
Its at this stage where if you aren't happy with it you can do something about it. Also, like you said its not an expensive mishap.
67burwood
Today was window fitting day 🎉😁 I assembled the windscreens last week and left the sealant to set before fitting. I used a black rubberised gutter sealant which stays flexible and is water proof, it was a bit messy but clean up wasn’t to bad, I used a silicone spatula to remove the excess and WD on a rag to remove the residue. Next up was fitting the screens, I spent a bit of time fitting and adjusting prior to painting so they should bolt straight in…..or so I thought 🤔 It would appear I over looked the fact that now frames are ridged with the glass fitted it has altered the square of the frame very slightly, this turned a 5 minute job of fitting into a 4 hour job of fitting and adjusting over and over again until finally they were in and working….. but they do look good even if I say so myself 😬 Starting to looking like a truck again Air conditioning on full. 12

Rootes75
Looking really good. Did you end up buying a portable garage? I recall you pondering it?

I did consider one of the tunnel type garages but to be honest I don’t have the space, so it’s covered with a good tarpaulin.

Somewhere I may have a photo of it at Beltring. Hi 67 Burwood, just stumbled on your post and thought I could enlighten you with some history on your WOT6. As I am the son of the late Tim Wood who passed in 2007. Your WOT is know to me, it wasn’t owned by my father but by his friend Joe Mcoy, who was a Irish panel beater who lived in Tilbury. I’m certain Joe purchased the WOT from a deceased estate of Sid Parr, - a well known individual in the Newcastle MV club at the time (circa 1990s) I believe Sid had the truck on display for sometime in the (then) military museum in Newcastle. Tim, myself and a group restored a WOT6 at the fort and had it ready for the 45th Anniversary of D-Day in Southsea Common and then onto Normandy in 1989 - how I recall changing gear to 2nd or 4th!!! Once you drive your truck you will know!!!! 🤣 I’d love to know where that truck is now as I lost track of it 20years ago after migrating to New Zealand. I am sure it’s still in action as DVLA lists it as having a valid tax certificate. I recall your truck very well & I think I may even have some pics somewhere of your truck lurking in the attic. Im certain Joe purchased the WOT6 and it is one we towed back from Newcastle, my father, Joe & I were involved with the recovery using a a Austin K9 - a rather scary experience on the A1 on a VERY short solid bar!!! Joe kept the WOT at Coalhouse Fort in East Tilbury until he sold it, his ownership was quite short lived but o do recall it was in very good condition. I recall him taking it to several shows during that time, he never converted it to diesel though, this was how he had purchased it originally i have read your progress on the resto, my father was very proud of the WOT6 & WOT8 models and I know he made a lot of connections with fellow enthusiasts that were restoring them across Europe back in the early 90s Please do post your resto pics, having been involved in one of these before many years ago I know how rewarding the finished truck will be. I know it’s a bit late now but I do have lots of pictures here of our resto back in 87 to 89 of the WOT6 if your interested

67burwood
Not to much to report at the moment, prepping and painting some of the small stuff. Made a visit down to RCH Canvas and had a chat with Richard and Charlotte, new seat cushions and cupola cover on order, there’s a bit of a wait but the products look good. I’ve got an original seat base that’s correct but the back cushion is a possible choice of 2, does anyone have any pictures of wot6 seat cushions that could be used for reference?? also does anyone know what the 2 dot lift pins are for on the back of the seat frame? They don’t fit either of the seat backs I have. Edited November 22, 2021 by 67burwood
Rootes75
I had a message from RCH this week about my canvas on order from them, they cannot source Brown canvas and would rather I have my deposit back for now😞

Rootes75
The have been really good about it. I actually put the order in back in the summer and they have had supply issues all that time, they have been working hard to get some and are still trying. I have seen some of their work and that's why I went with them. Its high quality. In reality the truck wont need it until May/June next year so there is still time.

67burwood
Yes, guilty as charged, it’s been sitting there for a couple of years and I can’t see myself doing anything with it for sometime, so best to let it go.

67burwood
Evening everyone, just a quick update, progress has been slow, bad weather and lack of daylight doesn’t really give you the enthusiasm to get things done but step by step progress is being made. I’ve ordered a cupola cover from RCH Canvas so I thought I’d make a lid for the cupola to prevent any sagging and help keep it water tight. some off cuts of ply glued and screwed together makes for a snug fit, I’ll paint it green when the weather improves. Next up was finishing the rifle holders. New brackets made, cleaned and painted The leather protector is passed its best so I ordered the finest Italian leather ( that’s what the ad said 🤔 ) to make replacements As there was plenty of leather left I cut strips to fit the butt holders.

67burwood
Morning everyone I am thinking ahead slightly in regards to electrics and lighting, the truck has the correct style headlights and side lights but the rear lights are rectangular plastic most probably of a trailer or tractor, I’ve not seen any pictures of the correct rear lights for a wot6 so I have no idea what they look like, I’ve see these lights for sale but would like your opinions if there suitable or pictures of the correct lights. REME 245
These are the correct lights for a truck of your year but they would not be sufficent for modern after dark use so you would still need a trailer lighting board. Thanks for your reply, the lights pictured are a new modern equivalent of Jeep / dodge rear lights with both tail and brake lights, why do you say they not be sufficient ? Is it size ? 67burwood
Today I decided to fit some of the brackets and mounts inside the cab, they’ve been painted and waiting patiently for some time now PLEASE BEWARE THAT SOME OF THE PICTURES BELOW COULD BE CONSIDERED SOFT PORN ON THIS FORUM 😂 It was all going so well until I went to fit the axe head, 1942 dated so it should fit……..🤔 The mounting point Spot the problem?? Any ideas ??
07BE16
All mountings for pick- axe heads I have seen have been oval as it stops the head rotating. has this been changed at some time in the vehicles past? The pick axe head looks standard.

Hair Bear
I've followed all the way through and seriously jealous of your fabricating skills. As an untrained observer, if I'd not seen your pictures, I would have attempted to fit the rifle the other way around so the barrel stood more vertical and tighter to the cab's panel so I'm guessing there's a reason for the orientation as it is?
