  1. Hi everyone Does anybody have a picture of the hull number and exact location on a Saracen? I’ve looked back through and old thread but the only picture I found was poor quality and didn’t really expand on the location, the Saracen is an up armoured mk5, we were told the hull number is above the rear doors and stamped in the escape hatches, the hatch numbers we have found but would like to find the hull number, we have cut the armour above the rear doors but no number, any help would be appreciated.

  5. Sorry you haven’t felt welcome, I can only assume no one was able to answer your question at the time of posting, personally I only tend to view the recently updated topics that appear on the screen, I can only assume yours just got missed.
  6. I completely agree with your comments about FB, although it can be useful there are a lot of rude, obnoxious and arrogant people who post unnecessary comments, while this forum genuinely has people who are interested in sharing advice and admiration for other people’s hard work.
  7. It could just be that time of year, it’s still wet cold and miserable, if like myself your working mainly outside on your projects, this time of year is not very progressive 🤞when the weather improves the project updates will start rolling in.
  8. You’ve also got the 80th anniversary of Market garden this year so prices are likely to be slightly inflated, personally I think your better to wait until the end of the year until the show season is over and compare prices then.
  9. Nice looking Mat, almost a shame to dismantle the body work.
  10. The screen canvas is easy to weather, just scrunch it up a few times and drag it around the floor 😁 adds patina…
  11. TBH my hood spends most of the time stowed under the passenger seat, you could look for a second hand one for the rare occasion it gets used.
  12. Gloves, hat and a good jacket… happy days 😁
  13. Thank you for the info, a guide price is helpful. Does the Racal mast not fit this clamp?
  14. Hi everyone Could anyone please tell me the current valve of this 6201076 RACAL CLARK 12M & 8MTR ANTENNA MAST VEHICLE MOUNT ASSY UPPER it was among job lot of spares I bought but I can’t find any for sale to compare. It looks to be in new condition, any help would be appreciated
  15. I usually drive my GPW but I do have a Land Rover discovery 2 for towing, the biggest problem for me now is the LEZ, luckily I’m about 1/2 a mile outside it but it does mean a bit more route planning 🤨
  16. From memory there’s no other way of fitting the first aid kit without drilling 2 holes on the underside of the dash.
  17. My original carburettor has now been repaired, I’d like to thank John Attlee for his engineering expertise, John re-tapped the thread and made a new longer banjo bolt 👍👍 I am still looking for a rebuild kit in particular a gasket set for the carb if anyone can help please let me know.
  18. Thanks Wally, if it can’t be repaired I’m sure a replacement will turn up eventually.
  19. John, that would be very much appreciated, yes I’m in Esher Surrey, I’ll pm you. Many thanks Seamus
  20. I’ve had a look at the thread size and I’m assuming it’s BSF but I’ve nothing to compare it to, a 1/2 inch unf nut screws on but is a very loose fit, does anyone know what the equivalent BSF would be?
  21. I had thought about using a helicoil but 2 things crossed my mind, first would it seal well enough for Petrol and second I have no idea what type of thread size it is.
  22. Wanted Zenith 42VE1 carb, the carb came off an Austin K9 but may have been fitted to other vehicles, the thread has disintegrated on the fuel feed banjo, if you have carb that maybe useful for spares or repair please let me know.
