Sorry for lack of posts been very busy juggling work and getting the Rogers ready for armour & embarkation in a few weeks. Trailer is know basically finished just stencils to apply, truck needs a few little jobs like re connect near side fuel tank. Been out road testing this morning and everything is playing ball so far odd break getting warm on the trailer but they need more running time to bed in.

What a week it’s been 7 years work and to get both truck and trailer to A&E and to take part loaded as well just made the whole event that much more special. Combined with running in convoy with Jason Jeffries who was travelling down from Basingstoke with Nigel Stoat’s Sherman. What a sight on the road 2 loaded outfits a rare thing indeed and have to say just getting to and from A&E was a challenge which myself and Jason enjoyed from start to finish despite both of us having issues. But we over came these and I got to thank Bill Hembery and Edd Jones for their help with my little break downs and help to load bill’s Sherman. Didn’t manage to take many pics so most of what I have is from other people but these only show a snippet of what it’s like running these mighty trucks and how they should be run.

there’s some really good vid on YouTube know of the truck on the road working but it would have been nice to have a camera on the Sherman/trailer catching more of the truck working hard on the hills. As she sounded immense specially in Dorchester which unless you were there you missed out. As non of the vids I have seen catch the sound track that rolls pumps out.

so got a list of jobs to do know to get ready for Holland so won’t be attending capel in a few weeks as I got a exhaust manifold that’s blowing badly, squeaky breaks on the truck and an engine oil pump that’s not performing how I would like so busy few months ahead. I’ll keep posting on here what gets done to the truck as I hope if nothing else these posts help people to work on their diamonds or better, motivates people to get interested in them.

What a sight, outstanding! The two together are simply perfect.

Am I right in thinking that the canvas-cab 980 you are running in company with in the pictures in the ex-Melbury Motors of Shaftesbury and ex-Sanders Central Garage of Combe Martin vehicle?

I bet the sound effects up the hill in Dorchester were memorable...

yes Jason's rag top 981 is the ex sanders garage truck so it's done a lot of miles and keeps on going. the whole week was memorable from when we both met up at podimore services thursday afternoon to when we parted at Andover at the A30/A303 junction on the sunday night. shame no one was following us on the thursday to get video climbing all the hills from Yeovil to Dorchester so have to fix that for 2026.
