  2. If someone or something is not a child and is in a public place, or a place were the public is permitted, any picture is copyright of photographer, and you don't need permission to take a picture. Don't put it there if you don't want it photographed. Somewhere you are 'invited' to visit, ie a museum can set their on rules. MOD property is the fifedom of the Secratary of State, who may declare any area 'Restricted' and forbid photgraphy. This was a pain in the ass for me as a photo of my old 101 ambulance has become a stock picture. If I could have claimed royalties it would have paid for her! Mind you, at Sandhurst a few years back they had some real drool value kit. I did ask if I could take pictures and got told 'Fill your boots', well three cards anyway.
  3. Also infectious, from Matchbox, through Dinky to one to one! (Though I still have a shelf, or two, and a couple of cabinets)

  6. I'm with Lauren on that, possibly attached to the V2 rocket? Or, you being sneacky, is it used to earth a load from a helicopter? After all the German's did have some operational aircraft in WW2, and film exists of underslung loads.
  7. Ex RAF Regiment possibly? Was a mistake to let air frame fitters near it when the seat needed replacing. Altertnatley 'Lay of those B Menu rat packs in future'. '
  8. Is it a gain charge attached to the bottom of a fuse?
  9. Is it a tool for removing blind rounds from a barrel?
  10. Having been on lates and finishing the next day, I was listening to BBC World Service and heard an item concerning this guy. http://purpleheartsreunited.org/found-purple-hearts/ Fascinating story.
  11. In an urban enviroment, you can turn them upside down and fill with plants as hanging baskets. :-D
  12. Hum, welcome in. Range Rover P38's are quite cheap, and would make an intresting donor?
  13. Best place for a Dauphine. Cross ply tyres, rear engine and drive, safer to drive backwards in the rain.
  14. Welcome John. Since when were military vehicles in 'Showroom' condition? :-D Especially if you get into re-eancting! Be prepared for boot marks on the floor, throwing drunks into the back, mud from arenas, just what they were built for.
  15. I agree that left over fuel could be the problem. I've just had a little generator that I decided to revive after three or four years. There was a trickle of fuel left in it. It would kick over but not run. The main jet was clogged with a brown goo, quick clean with a fine wire and away it went first pull. Spray in and add to top carb cleanears just don't seem to have the clout on fuel that old, so be prepared to go manual on the carb.
  16. welcome in, we'd all love to the family photos.
  17. Could be fun to fit a Landy with JATO. :cool2: For those who may not be aware, JATO- Jet Assisted Take Off. JATE, Joint Air Transport Establishment. The purpose of which was - The study , development and testing of service techniques and equipment for airborne assualt and air transportable operations. In 1998 it became the Joint Air Delivery , Test and Evaluation Unit.
  18. Hey!! We had one in the Jersey Evening Post a few years back! :nono:
  19. Why waste and expensive pice of armament that still works? A lot of ex French tank turrets, not to mention French , Russian and Checz artillery pices ended up on the Atlantic Wall.
  20. Collosus, built by Tom Flowers was the worlds first programmable electronic computer. starting with about 1800 valves, then building up to 2000+. 10 or 11 were built, the last one may have been used at GCHQ till the 1960's. They were not built to brack Enigma (no pun intended) but the Gehimeschriber or Secret Writer, know to the Allies as the Tunny code. This was used to pass high level stratgic traffic. There is eveidence that the USSR captured a number of these machines and because they were 'Unbreakcable' blissfully continued to use them. :cool2:
  21. I paid around £120 for a Frank Jolley unit for my Dodge, though 10 years so far of trouble free running, I reckon it worth it.
