  1. Welcome and jump in. The joy of this place lots of odd knowledge coming from everywhere.
  2. That makes sense. Late 1800' early 1900's Britian sold a lot of naval ships to other countries. Welcome in Sir, please flip through our Dreadnought catalouge, and for those oh so important accesories.... :-D One of the guns on the Monitor M33, now at Portsmouth came from an Argentian vessel, built in Britiain , borrowed for WW1 then returned to Argintina, when broken up the gun was offered back for M33.
  3. Looking at head stamps, 4 inch, obvious calibre. CF Cordite filled (Full Charge). As for the E,looks like a couple of letters mistruck or worn,. Could that be Elswick Ordnance Company?
  4. I vote for the Cadets. It is a tribute to those who designed , built and manned the gun. I know 'The so much effort spent on death', etc etc, argument, but this is a masterpice of enginnering and craftsmanship.
  5. There are better ways to spend half an hour. I'm suprised the Tank Musuem went along with it.
  6. What the Germans had done was reverse the round in the standard 7.92 Mauser round. The intention was that it should be used as an anti aircraft round. Various bogeyman stories of Dum Dum and Explosive rounds causng horrendous injury and death were common place amongst the Allies. Wether reversed round will penatrate seems to be who you belive. The main problem was spall and poor construction.
  7. A real peice of craftman's work on the restoration, and a chance to finally see all the details of the gun.
  8. That's torn it! The Command Car and Volvo transporter will have to go on hold then! :pfrt:
  9. Some owners can get a bit carried away. Though you can see the top of the rifle holder on the left by the steering wheel. (Though great fun to stick a load of 'merry' re enactors in the back going through town singing 'Soldier's Songs')
  10. Yeah and then have great fun matching road speed to the vaccum wipers.
  11. There are French versions of the rifle rack available. Where they mount sems optional, mine fits just alongside the steering coloum, as thats where holes lined up. :-D As mine is British marked it fits a .303 SMLE, but will also fit a Garand.
  12. Oh nice. If it was in Norway, very close to the USSR, it may have a very interesting history. A number of those vehicles post war were used for radio interceptors.
  13. Yeah, with an audience waiting with great expectation! Anyway canvas is only there for a bit of shade
  14. OK. I admire the commitment, but what was it? :-D
  15. He knows me SO Well!!! To misquote Herman Mellville 'The best of Fun I owe to Dodge and Hound'. I have had a great deal of fun with mine over the years, and still am. The only headache with them can be the brakes. They work perfectly well, but you do need to check and adjust them by the manual.
  16. Welcome in. What sort of pictures do you do?
  17. Welcome in. modelers always welcome.
  18. From where are you getting the 120v reading? I have a proper generator tester, gives voltage and frec unloaded and loaded. When output is measured with a usual VOM meter it differs wildly.
  19. My insurance cover 'Shows and Rallies' , which includes charity events as they are non profit making. Main thing is do you support the charity's ideas?
  20. Welcome in, bet you make a presence when your on the move.
