  1. Welcome in. Have a friend who recently moved back over here from Auckland. Enjoy summer, we poor sods are gearing up for Winter.
  2. As long as you can also give advice on tyres use and care, please!
  3. Update: Coil is fine, Electronic Ignition fine. Teeny little problem with one HT lead to number 4 plug though. :red: It had worked itself against number 3 plug, and, er, melted. Still got some new 7mm Copper HT lead coming , so happy half hour making up new leads.
  4. More important. Are there plans to get the vehicle running? UK and Portugal have been allies for centuries, so not suprising British Arms companies such as Vickers would sell there. But how did it get there?
  5. WHAT??? Cross the Tamar?? :wow: Strange people down there.
  6. Widecome, Tom Pierce Tom Pierce lend me your grey mare. Ashburton is a nice little town. Buckfastleigh, where the monks make Tonic Wine. If you have time, go north to Exmoor, Oare Church where Lorna Doone was married and Porlock with the square topped church, which legend has it ships will tie up to one day. One little problem mate. With what your used to, expect Vertigo:nut: The flatest place will be the table top.
  7. I know from family research Coroners records aren't kept. You can get a copy of a Death Certificate though, that has a brief Coroners cause of death.
  8. Welcome, with that lot you need help? Possibly your head read, but anyone with a Dodge can't be bad. :-D
  9. Like the 'Right Posh' wooden instrument panel. :-D
  10. OK, due to this post I'm coming out! :red: I've just joined the Vauxhall owners club as well. Though in my defence, it is just a tatty old 1995 Astra for £200 to cart oily stuff about. (Wouldn't want to get the PROPER vehicles dirty ) Someone must love them! Though for my 18 birthday (LONG AGO) I was given an ex British Army Vauxhall Velox Staff car. Straight six 3 litre engine, 3 gear coloum shift. (Tied up with bootlace as the bracket had brocken) Wish I'd kept it, and the Austin Gipsy, and possibly one of the Hillman Imps.
  11. Bl**dy hope so! Might get some snow this winter, and what happens if I can't take her out to play?
  12. Thanks mate. I know a number of bus enthusasts. In my defence, it goes with the job.
  13. Any Humber cicvillian parts for a 1962 Hawk? And any old bus parts let me know if you have time. thanks.
  14. Thanks Enigma, can't really complain 15 odd years. :-D When I electrified Katy I got a coil from Frank Jolley, Katy goes like a rocket so I'll contact him. Nice to bounce ideas of knowledgable friends,:
  15. Plugs are good , just slightly grey. About two years old. Coil has worked fine. Tip dosen't appear to have lost metal, though wouldn't hurt to replace. Don't know about heat in coil haven't checked. So that's two on the check list. Thanks. :-D
  16. My 12 volt WC51 is misfiring erratically under load. Fitted with Frank Jolleys electronic ignition, distributor cap clean no wear, rotor arm slight black on end. . Idles fine. Pulled plug tops off at idle, no changes. Fuel my be a bit rough but has been drained out and fresh with fuel system cleaner run through it. Begining to suspect coil , fitted before I got her fifteen years ago now. So suggestions please.
  17. Actually, I have one of those. The only other set I've seen the bloke used them for storing beer cans. :-D The green boxes on the front.
  18. As the old Auction saying goes 'Nothing beats a good under bidder to drive the price up'. :cool2:
  19. If I remember correctly, 'Only to be used with Carbon Batteries'. I had several different types of magazine safety torches at one time, rescued when the old Woolwich Arsenal was shut down.
  20. Welcome in, anyone who likes big green or blue or grey toys will be at home here..
  21. A burner of some type? Or exactaly the opposite a flame trap.
