  1. Check all connections and earths. They may appear tight, but!! I've been caught a number of times on various vehicles with this one. I now use all the toothed anti washers on earths.
  2. Try this lot, there may be one for sale. http://www.10thessex.org/
  3. All part of the fun! I'll try and get you a better picture of the blackout if you like?
  4. Or Norwegian? That's where many post war Dodges seem to have ended up.
  5. As you are finding, markings and colour schemes cause many 'discussions' Just to add to the hassle, a number of just pre WW2 cars used a very bluish primer coat. Try looking at some very obscure place that resprays might have missed. If the vehicle stayed in UK, even if it was a military vehicle, it would have had white blackout markings on it. Not often seen on restorations, but eye catching, and correct.
  6. Careful, At that price you'll have dozens of little elfs somewhere in a shed, knocking out 'Genuine' copies
  7. Welcome in. Do we dare the old jokes like 'what is it? ' Don't ask me I'm a cook not a bl**dy Detective. Hadn't heard the Aldershot Concrete Company one before though.
  8. I understand from someone who asked about this that RBL decided not to . Why you'd have to ask them.
  9. A diamond in the rough. Going to be a real nice vehicle.
  10. Following the old rule. Improvise, ADAPTED and overcome! (I'll take the tablets now)
  11. If the locals don't seem very happy, offer to give the kids a lift, works every time! :cool2: I had to wash Somme mud of my WC51 after the 90th annversary. Broke my heart. So Normandy, I now have two jars of sand one in each vehicle. A third was scattered on Carol's grave. Katy is supposed to have landed on D +9 and we were always going to take her back together.
  12. OHH Goody! Post pictures of your toy.
  13. I have two a Chore Horse that initially didn't work and a BSA that did. I wanted the Chore Horse, naturally as it was WW2 date, so decided in blissful ignorance to swop parts about. The Chore horse had knackered points and condenser, so I thought change them over from the BSA. Didn't quite work like that. In the end the face plate from the BSA fits the Chore Horse Engine block, then BSA points and condenser, change flywheel with magnets as well. The result IT LIVES!!!! :-D Did intially try to pull start it. Now S*d that! Plug a full battery on, start by reversing the dynamo, when running change to dud battery. Quite a brutal charger, but great when a pice of plant has an expired battery in the middle of muddy hole. Five minutes on the Chore Horse, it can fight but never wins.
  14. Heat has to go somewhere, crew must sweat buckets.:-D
  15. Active in UK they are Section 5 . The problem now is what standard to de-activate to? I found one for friend a few years back through my Gunsmith. It wern't cheap! That's my suggestion ask your local gun dealer.
  16. As one lawyer said to me 'It's the word 'Reasonable' makes us our money. :-D
  17. :blush:Vehicle is past the age requiring a C OF c Whoops! Thought it was a MW!
  18. The Calvados region have a very good tourist board. They can give you a l;ot of advice. Don't stick to the coast, you will miss such palces as Caen and Falaise or Tilly Sur Selles, Jerusalem Farm= Best Calvados in the World, but can only be bought at the farm.
