Smithy
Longues sur mer , battery Sorry to hijack the thread a little, is there much stopping here Tom? I only ask as I'd read online that there might be a camp set-up but hadn't seen anything for sure. Could you provide more details? Not long to go now, safe trip to all making the journey. rosie
Does anyone know if there is a formal dress code? One of my friends who will be joining in a parade in Port En Bessin (sp) have been asked to wear period clothing.

79x100
There were three Scammells and a Matador on the campsite at Etreham. Magnificent ! Oddly, I don't think that I saw a single Morris-Commercial anywhere .
Richard Farrant
Oddly, I don't think that I saw a single Morris-Commercial anywhere . I did spot a C8GS pass through Coleville, but did not see where it came from, not on MVT camp anyhow.
Chopa
found this spot, does anybody recognize it ? Maurice, that farmhouse with the shutters was used in the opening scenes of the movie "The Longest Day" as the location from which the crazy Frenchman in the pompier helmet watches the fat German with the breakfast mess tins ride towards the beach just as the opening barrage lights off. Great pic!
Maurice
yes , the grass bit is where he walked with the horse , or where he later jumps of when the bombardment begins , and the house was used for that crazy frenchman .
