Pzkpfw-e
Not that the WWF will be excited, but I am! Hoebig, in Germany. Now, anyone out there know anymore? Wheatcroft's? the ex-range wreck in a "Private collection" near Frankfurt? Iain King's bits coming together? Scammell4199
Me too!!! Whose workshop is that?!! When you say the ex range wreck, is that the one found in eastern europe somewhere couple years ago? I had assumed that Wheatcroft would have bought that one. Who is Iain King? Gordon_M
I'll put my Engineering Surveyors hat on here and risk pronouncing that all the metal you can see there is brand new. I'd guess they are going to build one from the ground up using mild steel, hopefully outfitted with as many original bits as can be sourced. rnixartillery
When these things become valuable its amazing how they crawl out of the woodwork, just look at the increase of restored shermans over the past 10 years. The remains of armour that no one would have bothered with years ago are now 'worth it' ! Rob....................rnixartillery. Not all, I would say the toe plate and upper hull side are original, the rest looks new.

ajmac
Unless the owner has the engine and transmission to hand I think that rebuilding the hull and turret will end up looking like the easy part of the job!

There is/was a gearbox that seems to be in good condition at the Westwall museum. P-O
Lauren Child
To be fair, good on whoever's it is for trying! Here's hoping we see another Tiger on the move. I think they've got a lot of hutzpah for taking on a project like that.
Pzkpfw-e
With enough money, everything's possible! Maybe it'll turn out like the King of Jordan's PzIV, with an FV432's drive train. That'll offend the purists, but if it's the only viable way to get it to move!
