Today I picked up a Jerry Can with the marking WD with broad arrow in between dated stamped 1945.

On one of the big sides in the centre flat area it has the letters VM.

Can anyone elaborate on what it is, its rarity and possible value please?

I'm surprised that there are that many of them still around all these years later that they would not command more money.

Yes it has a bit more value here.

Ones I have seen at steam rallies and shows with wartime dates have been nearer £15-20 asking price, I think £5 is an under-estimate, but £20 is top dollar.

I think i have, but i hear that they are really valuable.

OHH GOODY!!! I've got 1944 and 1945 dated ones! And a number of 1950's if anyone has a vehicle that date, there welcome to them.

on ebay recently saw a ww2 thermos flask go for 75 quid!!

If it the big ration one, yeah, that's the sort of price. Says the smug owner of two of the carrier packs, thanks to a Forum member. :-D

BMB is Briggs Motor Bodies. Their main business was making car and Truck bodies for Ford in the UK, including my WOA2 and WOT2 bodies. I have also found BMB on Paratroop and ARP helmets.
