nz2 Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 Does British Waterways allow these in cannals? Quote
Gordon_M Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 Well, it's a river, and not a canal, but I wouldn't try to stop one ... I've driven down that river in one some time back, half the time it was running on the mud and not floating. Quote
younggun Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 that was quite an etertaining afternoon out with the stolly . needs to work on his directional controle it got a little too close for comfort to the £40,000 moterboat mored next door . :shake: Quote
Guest catweazle (Banned Member) Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 There is a law thats makes it an offence to wash a motor vehicle in the river, which they use if they want to prosecute you.:-D Quote

paulob1 Posted August 12, 2009 Posted August 12, 2009 totally legal if you have a licence...thats why its always best to be legal...they cant get you for anything then...like l;ife jackets worn over the clothing not under...:-D Quote
Stone Posted August 12, 2009 Posted August 12, 2009 What if you buy a waterways licence? :-D You're limited to 4mph in canals but you probably wouldn't want to be going any faster In practice, would the powers that be get upset if you were to, f'rexample, float a Gvozdika up the Thames? So long as you're not leaving a diesel slick behind you I'm not sure there would be a lot they could do about it... Stone Quote

Tony B Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 I was waiting for that  Well I suppose the goverment wouldn't miss a tax loophole like that, or the oil company a profit. Quote
Guest catweazle (Banned Member) Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 Well I suppose the goverment wouldn't miss a tax loophole like that, or the oil company a profit. Nothing to do with our government.Brussells,You know the place, we liberated it from people who wished to restrict there freedom, now there doing it to us.By the way the exemption for boat owners was granted by Winston churchill in recognition for the little ships and the skippers who lost there lives.Didnt count for much today did it.:iloveyou: Quote
paulob1 Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 yep got to agree with that, 80 odd million fought to save europe from tyranny. The result, we cant even ride our bikes on the pavement, or use plastic bags for our shopping in wales, or travel at the same speed on our roads as those that supposedly lost the war...And thats not a dig at anyone other than our government.. Poptopshed Posted August 14, 2009 Posted August 14, 2009 The emergency exits are through the drop down side windows. Quote
