  1. Nice pics, did it blow the fences down in the first picture Scott
  2. Excellent build, I'd be really proud of that.
  3. Very nice, the lesser spotted Guy Ant Quad if I'm not mistaken?
  4. Nice pics Andy. Well done Phil, his Matador is certainly something a little special. We arrived at 5.15pm on Wednesday but didn't get to our camping spot until 6.45 due to the ground conditions. I have never seen the ground so bad at GDSF, so much so I doubted if it would dry up for the remainder of the show. Thankfully Thursday and Friday were dry and warm and it did dry up in most areas. Had a good time once again and it was good to meet up with friends both new and old.
  5. We stopped at this campsite in 2009: http://www.chateau-martragny.com/index.htm?lang=en and I would recommend it to anyone that is camping as it's situated between Bayeux and Caen and easy enough to reach all areas of Normandy. While last year we stayed in a B&B that is tucked away but again in a good location and would recommend it to others, more info here: http://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Hotel_Review-g1432119-d623629-Reviews-La_Ferme_des_Perelles-Saint_Vigor_le_Grand_Calvados_Basse_Normandie_Normandy.html Hope the above is of use.
  6. Have only just seen your post, I'm actually off to GDSF this afternoon, however there should be a number of items which will interest you across all areas of the show. There are usually a couple of steam engines with WW1 backgrounds and there has sometimes been something in the military and commercial sections, whilst the motorcycle tent will also be of interest. To be honest you never really know what is going to turn up at the show until you are in attendance, I'm sure you will enjoy it like we do every year!
  7. Thought it would have been. Looked very nice from the three seconds which I managed to see it for!
  8. Spotted a halftrack on the back of a beavertail lorry coming down the A1(M) on Saturday. Was it one of you guys?
  9. Thought you had done, always good to change things around now and again. Looking good mate! Scott
  10. Thanks for the pictures Mark. That Scammell Pioneer must be pretty local but I haven't seen it around at any other shows which I do locally. Nice Morris Commercial in civvy colours as well. Have you made some changes to your display? Scott
  11. We will be there at some point during the week, not sure which days yet though.
  12. Nice pictures thanks for posting. I think all of the fire appliances pictured belong to the Manston/Scampton Fire Museum collection.
  13. You will be interested in this one which was alongside it then Ron: Scott
  14. Thanks for sharing the picture. Although it's not to everyone's liking I do think it's good sometimes to see these vehicles in their out of service guise as many went to have long careers in showland etc. In fact at this year's Great Dorset Steam Fair there is a special gathering of these types of machines, with no doubt a lot having military connections. Details can be found here: http://www.fun-fairs.co.uk/forum/index.php?showtopic=45874#entry206303
  15. I spotted this at the Walsall Town Show last weekend andthought it may be of interest to others. The information card with it read,'Corgi 1940 ridden by Councilor Anthony Harris on the Wall of Death.'
  16. Thanks for posting the above, it is indeed the same one that I was thinking it might be. Great to see it still around and hopefully one day it will be one the show scene once again.
  17. I think this could be the one which I mentioned earlier in the thread had appeared in Worlds Fair. If you have pictures that would be great. I think the article said the guy who has it now is planning on restoring it??
  18. Thanks for the pictures, keep them coming :-D
  19. Lot's of Matador pictures on this link here: And a lot more here as well: http://www.flickr.com/groups/aec-matador/pool/with/5486055260/#photo_5486055260
  20. Nice on Mark, for those that weren't in attendance it helps give us an idea of what was going on! Scott
  21. Is this another we can add to the list that have survived (for now): http://www.milweb.net/webverts/61889/
  22. Thanks Mark. Looks like we were pretty lucky to see the Dodge then if that is the one, I must admit that I did go into anorak mode and took pictures of all sides of it having not seen it before! Scott
  23. Final lot from me for now. A mixture of a few other vehicles: I hadn't seen a Dodge like this before A nice Austin Gipsy to end the pictures.
  24. Some more heavy ones: A lovely AEC Matador which I hadn't seen before
