  1. Some great pictures and information so far guys of the different one's from around the country. Has anyone got any of the Blackpool one's lying around though???
  2. Cheers Degsy. Anybody have any more information and perhaps some pictures of these???
  3. Just wondering if any of you can remember the old MV's that used to take the motor boat's out to the sea along the Blackpool seafront. I think they had their full cab's removed(I may be mistaken) and have always wondered what they were. I also think that some of them are still going strong. Hopefully some of you will have some information and/or photo's of these unusual vehicles.
  4. We could dig three tunnel's and call them Tom, Dick and Harry!!! :cool2: :-D
  5. Oh right thanks for the info Richard. I didn't see a trailer or universal carrier nearby so maybe it has changed hands, like you say it was a long time ago. On a different note the Birdingbury Rally is a lovely little Rally that is well worth attending as there is always a big military presence their as can be seen by the pictures in the Explorer thread.
  6. Hopefully some of these haven't been seen on here before as they are some more from my photo collections from the last couple of years. The first two pics are from the Belvior Castle Steam Rally in 2007 The next three pics are from Birdingbury Steam and Country Rally in 2007 with the next five being from the 2008 show.
  7. As with the Matador thread I've decided to have a look back through some olf albums and found some pictures out which can be see below. The first pic if from Birdingbury Steam and Country Rally 2007 The next three are all the same Pioneer from Birdingbury 2008 The last pic I can't remember where it was taken but it was sometime in July 2008 lol :???
  8. Right here goes, seems as some other people are having a look through their old photo's here are some from my collection over the last couple of years. The first pic is from Birdingbury Steam and Country Rally in 2007. The second pic was taken at Caldecote Steam Rally in 2007. While the final four pics were all taken at Belvior Castle Steam Rally in 2007.
  9. Attached is a pic of my dads Gypsy. Whenever anyone asks about it we always say that Land Rover brought them out as the Gypsy was far better then a LR and they were worried about them :-D thats why they were only built for a short space of time.:
  10. I think they are still going as they did have some 'newer' tractor units in the yard with a couple of trailers. Now you have mentioned the longer Scammell's I'm pretty sure that one of the Highwayman's that was converted was still there yesterday when I visited. Even though the yard was open, due to there being a carwash on the front of it which wasn't connected to the yard as I did ask, I didn't feel it was right to go snooping around without asking the owners first. Would love to pay another visit one day.
  11. I was in Sheffield on Sunday and while driving around noticed a yard with some old lorries in it. I decided to stop and have a look and attached are two pics that I took on my phone. The yard was S Harrison & Sons and I think they are/were road hauliers. I couldnt get any closer, but I'm sure that the white lorry is a Pioneer (without an engine I must add). There was also five Scammell Highwaymans in the open and also from what I could see at least two covered up along with an Albion which was in an open fronted shed.
  12. I visited Headcorn in the summer and have to say I didnt see the Salamander in my short visit. What I did see I have attached below. As you have said though Les it could be tucked away in one of the hangers, I only managed to get close to the Landrover as there were some workers about to let me in I did go there many years ago and I'm sure there were lots of other vehicles in the hanger where the Landrover is but I couldnt see any this time I went.
  13. If it is the same one which I think it is, it's still in the same place as this picture was taken as it's only a couple of miles from me. The cab has been covered up now by a plastic cover though so it has got a little bit more protection than it has in this picture.
  14. Not sure tbh GWT. Although I'm pretty sure the Horsa is just going to be a static display as they have (from what I saw) cut a hole and added steps into the side of the hull. Now if this is able to come off I am not sure but wouldn't it be great to see them up in the air again. Although I don't think I would want to be in the air in one as there isn't much seperating you from the outside world!!!!
  15. Last weekend I paid a visit to RAF Shawbury to see how the Horsa and Waco Gliders were coming on during their Vetrans Weekend. Here are some pictures I took whilest visiting. Included are the vehicles that turned up for the event and the three aircraft that were on display.
  16. Final few that I have got and this time it is Jeep's and a Russian Campsite.
  17. A few more.... The Albion Ambulance I had not seen before.
