  1. Why does Comet No. 5 have a different rear plate, without what I assume (perhaps foolishly) are exhaust outlets that can be seen on all the others? trevor
  2. Well, Comet No. 2 seems nice, just needs a touch of filler around the front... trevor
  3. Looks good like that, but don't forget the grease nipples Does this mean it will be lifted off those blocks now, or are there still more things to do while it is in this position? trevor
  4. It is worth considering that not everyone here is British, not everyone lives in Britain. The point surely is to discuss the legislation, and not the value of the EU, nor to devalue the opinions of EU citizens nor those living elsewhere. trevor, living in Poland
  5. Well, some are built for comfort, some are built for speed - and some neither trevor
  6. I find it is interesting that Dan casts his name in some of his Halley parts, for example, showing everyone has their own ideas. Me, I don't care what the choices are, as long as I can read about them trevor
  7. Well, I suppose there is the argument that one should make it clear which parts are original and which are new, for the sake of future owners? trevor
  8. They look a bit like some kind of tail fins. I am interested in the shape on the lower end as I cannot imagine what they are designed to suit. trevor
  9. I was peeping, and I did consider foul drainage... trevor
  10. So, a chance to buy a Buffalo Buffalo! trevor
  11. Very very interesting, and very very time consuming to follow. I suppose if one does not want to join Facebook, then it is rather like me living in Poland and being unwilling to make the visit to Bovingdon - it is my choice, but I would not want to make anyone else unhappy because of my choice. I suppose the time might come when forums may also naturally evolve into smartphone technologies that also happen to work on desktops trevor
  12. I assume that you used a phone camera? Some seem to remember the orientation you held the camera, without storing that information in the picture file itself in a way that is recognised on the internet. trevor
  13. Very impressive, and it has also been a very enjoyable thread to follow! :cheesy: trevor
  14. Would probably take more than a soaking in diesel or hot oil to unseize those pistons. trevor
  15. It is coming together so nicely now, that is a really nice job - and I am enjoying following it trevor
  16. That is excellent news, a good long trip and no loss in coolant :-) trevor
  17. I was looking at those 7 spoke wheels and finned exhaust manifold as well. The front of the cab seems very flat, with none of that curved edges to the metal part you often see. What, though, is that lump of metal sitting on the front with a crank handle? trevor
  18. Good, I would have been surprised if you hadn't because you are meticulous, but I thought I should ask. I am a bit worried that it has been losing fluid for a while, suggesting that the leak has been there for a while or that it might have lost water and locally overheated. trevor
  19. That is a bit unfortunate! I would be surprised if it was the radiator cap that failed - if the spring were that strong it would probably burst the radiator long before the head gasket. Is there any chance that the head was not torqued down enough after its first run? I cannot remember whether you mentioned doing it or not? trevor
  20. Now I have looked closer, I can see differences as well, but do we know that that any of the development photos show its final form? I can see that the wheels on the 77 mm gun version have some kind of protection bar across them that I cannot see on the range tank. trevor
  21. I assume that the turret on the one used for a target is welded on, or are we seeing pictures of one 'vehicle' with two different turrets fitted? trevor
  22. Presumably to avoid braining people standing in the cupola when the tipper body came down? trevor
