  1. I am so glad to see more progress, this is my favourite artillery restoration trevor
  2. Ah, that makes much more sense! From the photos it looked like the eyes were different sizes, so I assumed the hitch was intended to fit different hitch sizes... trevor
  3. How does that double hitch work in practice? Is there really enough room between them? trevor
  4. Could the problem simply be hand technique? It might be useful to spend an hour or two with an expert welder to see where the issues lies. trevor
  5. I can see plenty of pictures at this end, do you think maybe your browser cache needs a flush? trevor

    Stalwart FFR

I heard that they mounted the wheel station to a support rig and then fitted the vehicle to the wheel station. :cool2: trevor
  7. So, nothing to do with the clearly marked 'TOP' being at the bottom, then :cool2: trevor
  8. A bit of work with a hosepipe, and it will be like new! :cool2: trevor
  9. I look forward to seeing some more photos Do you think that this could be something related to coastal defence? trevor
  10. It seems a pity that there are no short or long links available to take up the slack on the fan belt, but maybe it did not need any. trevor
  11. thanks, brain must have been temporarily out of gear.... trevor
  12. Standard 9hp? That was all I found on a quick internet search. trevor
  13. Nice pictures, and is that a scammel! Any idea what happened to all those bits? trevor
  14. Well, we will be sad to see it go, but better to sell it now while it is in its, eh, perfect, one careful owner state. By 'wreck in Northern Spain' I thought for a moment you were planning to go live in a rusty landrover on a Spanish mountainside...... trevor
  15. I must admit that in a way I feel relieved that you have decided to change the pistons, that little erosion pocket could so easily been a source of trouble. Can you get the pistons out without taking the engine out? I can't remember how much room there is on the under side of the engine on one of these. trevor
  16. I love all that you have done to fit this out, so much more interesting than yet another GS! trevor
  17. I was wondering what the rectangle on the ground is? Is it some kind of launching device? trevor
  18. The car boot sale looks a little sparse, though trevor
  19. I see you have discovered the Munga's over-pressure warning device. While it is always sad to have one's motor break I am glad that you are going to attempt a repair - a difficult task that seems to put many other people off trevor
  20. Will you be carburising the female parts of the ball joints, or will they be all right as they are? trevor
  21. Nice bit of tinwork there - ever onwards and upwards trevor
  22. I have a feeling that I have seen those initials before, but I cannot place them. Maybe on a bucket, I used to help my dad look for rusty buckets in different dumps so we could remove the handle, cut in half then use the curved bits on the end as a tool to get the concave shape of the mortar between bricks - he was a master bricklayer and liked a good finish. trevor
  23. So, I wonder where these parts are, and how many tigers it took to assemble this lot of parts? Is it someone liquidating their assets? trevor
  24. Looks like a Beldray bucket, the company also made very nice ironing boards, among other things. trevor
