  1. Off to a great start ! With both the Vehicle and your introduction .
  2. ok , I ask what is the flexable hose for ? or is that a really really powerful generator and that the power output cable ? How loud would you say it was compared to a average walk behind lawn mower ?
  3. Looks like it was a great event . Thanks for sharing the photo's .
  4. The holes are drains, I have read of other who sealed their rails top and bottom and left a vent at one end then installed a zerk at the other and filled the interior of the rail with grease and then plugged both ends, not sure which is better . Only way to keep your ducky as rust free as possible is not to float it at least not in salt water. Mind you these are only things I ve heard or read.
  5. Is that an EB in the back ground ? or another kind of rough terrain fork lift ?
  6. AH I see now , had thought a visual on float level but that seemed a bit odd , but a assist on starting is a good thing too.
  7. What is the purpose of the exposed shaft coming up through the float chamber ?
  8. Yes many different types of Vessels have been used here in the USA for diving exploration and reef building uses.
  9. Seems a shame that they were unable to find a sponsor or investor's to keep the collection together , How good a collection was it ?
  10. If it could be done , is it possble that if there were a seal to retain the grease in the sliding action of the drive shaft that the wear and then noise would be reduced or eliminated for lot long period of time , I seem to recall that the heat that the joint is exposed to means it must be regreased very often ?
  11. Wow not a lick of grease or oil anywhere in that housing , even when they failed to lub it there isnt any large damage to the housings ? If it were run any longer would that have ovaled or scored the housings beyond use? Would that then need special bushings or render the vehicle unserviceable .
  12. Was it a case perhaps that they also used a armoured engine shroud to balance the added weight of the armoured cab ? or perhaps a bolted on ballast weight underneath the engine ?

  14. Thank You Big Ray for continuing to share the details of your military service . While it might seem unimportant to some , likely those that have served , for those that have not or never will it paints a picture of a time and place through the life of someone real . Books and magazines will never fill in the details like this .
  15. YES Very true!! A way to keep th epast alive , things that have happened and shouldnt be forgotten .A reminder that even though 6o plus years have passed that many of the places and buildings still remain , Well done .
  16. Looks like a lot of work to me but if you plan it out and take it a bit at a time I m sure you can put it back on the road .
  17. Those NDT front tires really make the look ! Bit of an open cab at the moment but I m sure you have that part ready to go back on soon .
  18. Good to know that there are still a few open minds left in this world.
  19. Cant tell for sure but is it the last two road wheel torsion bars on each side that have broken ? as it appears the last road wheels are bearing on the last return roller, you mention the bars broke but not which ones .
  20. Welcome Pioneer , From what others had said I thought very little was being being done in the schools over there about WWII . Nice to see that at least some schools are doing much more .
  21. I dont know if your had the additional mud guard fitted between the rear axles or not , Mine has it but as far as I know it was a Dutch post war mod. along with the turnsignials
  22. I ll hope that the problem does not turn out to be something major !
