    Lent!

Does that have something to do with Cell Phones ? On the other hand I truly think he meant to say that he's become a celebrity on the forum and that his spelling was a little off , thats my story and I m sticking to it .
  2. I do hope that the restoration will be shared with everyone , while I ll never be able to own another HMV I do learn from others efforts and can understand that it can take a very long time to go from the planning stage to ownership to tracking down needed parts and locate the right people to undertake all the differnet specialties needed to make it possable to finish a project . I could be mistaken but it seems to me the rarer a machine is that the difficulty of working out all the details must multiply the cost and stress of everything . I again hope to watch and learn as this project goes along.
  3. Everyone who has or will enjoy the clip your all very welcome. I m glad to keep an eye out for things that others will enjoy.
  4. A interesting bit of video on moving a piece of refinery equipment by road in 1952 ,including night time marking with lamps as mentioned in other threads . Something went wrong...
  5. Simular story as the American Civil War cannons that were donated during the WW2 scrape metal drives that a number were reclaimed by the original donor towns after the war as over as they regreted donating them and the cannons had not be cut up as not worth the effort so they had been set aside. iirc.
  6. Out standing Photo's I thought I had given the Life Magazine archives a good look but these are all new to me Thanks for posting them.
  7. Well done on adding the photo's Ray ! They show that a lot of attention has been paid to them and look like they recently rolled out of the factory . I do check in to HMVF to see what you have posted very often , several times a day in fact as I dont want to miss post.
  8. Well done all around . pitty they didnt come with a heater ,then again real mens trucks dont have doors LOL . Just kidding . Enjoy the WC and happy motoring .
  9. I hope whatever his views and interests that This owner does make arrangements before something happens to himself as to the selling or transfer of all this material . Other wise I see a big big group of historic material being condemed to a scrape yard without any possibility of anything being saved by anyone . Especially once the French government gets involved !
  10. Looks very mch like the Driveway to Animal House .
  11. Not exactly walking on sunshine !
  12. A very Nice GMC353 Tipper ex Netherlands by the looks cant tell if it's got Banjo or split axles ?
  13. If it were in use by Norway I have often seen the addition of a window shade type shield mounted ahead of the raditor operated by a pull chain mounted underneath the dash . and coverleaf pattern tires . Thats about it for the most visiable items other than what was already mentioned .
  14. Always interesting how a chance encounter can become so much more . I hope you and your new friends will have a lot of stories to share for a long time to come .
  15. Very Impressive vehicle to beging with and Quite a beauty afterwards . I glad you were able to restore it so completely and insure its preservation for decades to come !

  17. if no one gives you a translation from the label other wise , you can go to this its "Babel fish" but you would have to type in each sentence and then pick the language to translate it to . its a slow process but all I can suggest as I dont read German . http://babelfish.yahoo.com/
  18. Short clip of the recovery in the 1990's of a Brewster Buffalo . Sound is a bit choppy but the images are interesting as how well intact this aircraft was after 40 years plus. Something went wrong...
  19. At least this way while they may be long gone to the melting pot they will live on forever in photo's and video. Thanks for posting the clip .

  21. I d guess only those Germans that werent listening to radio broadcasts from outside Germany. If I recall correctly that was an act that carried a severe punishment , was it prison or death ? Same sort of propaganda that Sadom H. used at the start of the Iraqi war , There are no Americans in Bagdad etc. according the Bagdad Bob .
  22. It seemed to be a bit of a brute force approch rather than what one would do to do it with the least bit of damage to the vehicles and equipment involved .
  23. Your correct the title I gave it was the title it was posted under. The scenes of the storm in the English Channel would have been D+7 ? or so it covers many days after D day its self it is the thrid part so part one may well have been just before and just after D day its self, and likely its colorized version of original black and white film that has been seen before but its still interesting to view . Thanks for commenting .
  24. Found this bit on youtube of the German side of the invasion , Claiming they are holding off the Allied forces and winning the fight . No wonder the German people had no idea what was really happening around them for so long . Something went wrong...
