  1. I presume you're after ripstop canvas as someone has said Anchor Supplies have canvas and if you ask I'll send you a piece that I have cut up to repair the RB44's tilt. Ex Bedford side canvas the only problem you have will be colour matching. If you know of someone with an old fashioned Singer sewing machine you will find that type of sewing machine is more than up to the job of repairing you're canvas. New sewing machines are not up to the job of sewing canvas in any of its forms. If you don't fancy that Anchor Supplies have replacement canvas http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Replacement-Canvas-9x9-Military-Land-Rover-Tent-/230619083875?pt=UK_SportsLeisure_HikingCamping_Tents_JN&hash=item35b1f7f463#ht_796wt_905
  2. Have you upset her must be obeyed that much that you're kipping on the floor with the cat.
  3. My Mini before it was re shelled by me had a similar problem to some of those vehicles the top hinge on the drivers door rusted through causing the door to hang from the bottom hinge. It still had four months MOT so it was used till the MOT ran out, so an MOT isn't proof that a vehicle is roadworthy it just says that its been tested and at the point of MOT was roadworthy. Wouldn't mind it was a cracking car in its original form
  4. If you go to War and Peace this year ask one of the owners on here if you can have a look inside either a Ferret or a Dodge
  5. I have seen at least three Chinooks over the last week two together on Thursday and one on Friday.

  7. The plug is the same type as fitted to the search light and the lead light This listing for a search light has both types of plugs that fit the holes http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Land-Rover-Series-Champ-Butler-Spotlight-1950s-60s-/270748991171?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item3f09e5bec3#ht_500wt_1156 I charge both of my batteries independently with a 12 volt trickle charger each. I also have a battery cut of switch that I switch to off when I use the trickle chargers. Don't forget that the interior lights will always drain the batteries as well.
  8. I would have thought that you're first major concern would be if the engine can be rotated on the starting handle. If it doesn't rotate you will be removing the cylinder head anyway to see the condition of the cylinder bores. Even if you find rust in the bores thats not an engine killer a good quality engineering shop who reconditions engines would be able to help. I suspect that the spark plugs could be drilled or eased out. I don't think that you need a specialist in the B series, the engines were built to be worked on by engineering workshops
  9. The answer might be to not treat W & P as you're main show of the season why support a local event nearer home or better still gee up you're local MVT area club to organise weekends away at wherever. Or just don't go have a year off from the event I very reluctantly do buy food from the stalls but thats only when I have been on a day visit. Way to expensive the stall holders must be minted at the end of the show. Toilets I can't agree more the stench coming from some of them in past years has been unbelievable! I do not agree in charging any exhibitor of a military vehicle, you bring the vehicle you make the show, no vehicles no show. We up here in the North could do with a major show on r doorstep rather than travelling 500 miles to Beltring and back. We could do with stealing Kents weather though
  10. Some of it would still look good on the front of you're Churchill if it was blasted
  11. Pre 1960 Bedford RL and the things that I like below which I won't mention  Austin K9, Humber Pig.... Ask the DVLA for confirmation on what you can and can't drive get it from the horses mouth or should that be the nags mouth
  12. Sounds interesting do they have a minimum or maximum number for visits?
  13. Not going to disagree on that one the problem can be in obtaining the correct spanners to do the job. As I have enough junk as it is going to a car boot isn't an option.
  14. The local water authority can not turn you're water off and if they have cocked up the installation of a water main what do you pay water bills for but for them or there agents to repair the damage. I presume its Severn Trent you're talking about try contacting the water regulator it was Ofwat not sure if its still called that.
  15. As it says somewhere above the gentleman has been shown the error of his ways by his peers and has been convicted. Nobody died the potential for a death or serious injury was there but hes been convicted thats the end off it. If anyone out there hasn't screwed up at some point shout up won't you and tell everyone how boring you're life is for having know experience of life.
