  1. Pain in the backside isn't it not so funny if you were to click on the links I suspect
  2. I know of three loonies who went looking for the missing 'tank' and only found a blown safe.
  3. I keep recieving an email that purports to be from Paypal with the heading Reminder: Your account will be limited If you not confirm your information. The first issue for me is that it is arriving in an email address that I don't use in conjunction with Paypal. If you read the email even I can see a few basic errors in grammar and spelling which a large company like Paypal / ebay is unlikely to make. If unsure off an email check into you're account through the website and not through any links in the email. The email address is Paypal Service and the email address is noreplyate paypal com(Dodgy) The text is dodgy to say the least, at first it is conciliatory and then later its threatening. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- We need your help ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Dear Paypal User, We Reminder You " Your Paypal Account Well Be Limte If You Not Confirm it " To Confirm Your Paypal Account Please Login To Your PayPal Link And Write Your Persenol And Card information Your Link : http //www paypal com-us sg(Mega Dodgy) Dont Give That Link To Any Body Case ID Number: PP-001-230-377-124 How you can help To Not Confirm It Again It's usually pretty easy to take care of things like this. Most of the time, we just need a little more information about your account or latest transactions. To help us with this and to see what you can and can't do with your account until the issue is resolved, log in to your account and go to the Resolution Center. Yours sincerely, PayPal Spaces and full stops removed in the links to make them inoperative
  4. I don't like putting axle stands under / on a sheet metal hull floor, the thought of it sliding off doesn't bare thinking about. I mount my stands at the end of the wishbone just beneath the CV boot, it has a nice cross type brace where I can hook the top of the axle stand into.
  5. First picture http://hmvf.co.uk/forumvb/showthread.php?24928-A-few-photos-of-my-Ferret-now-repainted-matt-green Vass will have the tyres you're after
  6. Now thats just greedy lol like it
  7. The reason that I bought the larger stands was that were almost at the right height for putting under the Ferret. Plus as I have a soft tarmac drive they spread the weight better due to the triangular shaped base plates/feet.
  8. It doesn't matter if its in gear the wheels on one side will spin if both wheels on one side of the vehicle are jacked up. Sticking it in gear when jacking won't secure the vehicle from rolling backwards or forwards. That wasn't suggested I know but its safer to pop that one in. Block up the opposite side to the side you are going to jack up. Buy some nice big axle stands 6 tons if possible and buy good ones not the cheap copies that you see on ebay. Bought a pair of those ended up welding them up. You can jack the vehicle in-between the wheel stations or the area directly under the drivers feet and the area near the sump plug access holes. If you don't fancy axle stands railway sleepers cut to the width of you're Ferrets hull will suffice. Feels safer as well.
  9. A few pictures taken at the end of an enjoyable show. It was dry over the majority of the show except Saturday/Sunday night which didn't matter as most of us were tucked up in bed. Sunday just a touch blustery, but the day got better when the sun decided to come out. First up one of Two Abbots at the show Diamond T and an Antar (not sure whick MK) One of four Bedford MK's only one picture though Lightweight Land Rover The other Abbot this was started up on both days of the show very nice too. Mutt BMW motorbike Plus my own RB with the Bell 47 Helicopter in the background Should have a video to load up of the Bell landing right next to us as well only 11 seconds long my phone refuses to record any longer
  10. My Dad used to do Home Brew beer me and my brother tested it for him along with my Mums home made wine which we replaced with water when we had drank half the bottle. Nectar to the gods that batch of wine. We came unstuck one evening when we were drinking my dads home brew from the bottles we got that sloshed that we were dropping the empties on the lino floor (kids weren't worthy of carpet). Are mum came came up realised we were sloshed and gave us each a good wallop with her slipper.... It didn't hurt though we were that sloshed that we couldn't feel anything, even the wooden soled slipper didn't work either. Happy days
  11. I think you should have waterproofed it ask the original supplier of the canvas if it needs waterproofing. By adding a waterproofing agent you might invalidate any warranty that you have.
  12. Go ahead I think its an email thats been passed around quite a bit. We used go out in the morning with a packet of crisps if we were lucky and disappear till we were hungry again.... We ate the crisps just as soon as we were out of sight of the front door. Once we had bikes we went for miles to places where no adults were so we could have fun without some old grump going oy you can't do that. Shining up lamp posts to the top and hanging off the top bar, eating sugar butties (think cake mix), swimming the river Mersey, climbing trees, climbing on roofs of the buildings in the shopping centre on Sunday. No shopping on Sunday imagine not being able to shop on Sunday! Playing in empty multi story car parks without fear of being run over by one of our teenage peers. Going down the spiral car ramp on a bike with no brakes and hoping for a happy ending at the bottom.
  13. Lets hope its good Film and worthy of the individuals who gave their lives.
  14. Sent to me by Andrew Douglas I thinks its from states but its still relevant Those of You Born 1930 - 1979 TO ALL THE KIDS WHO SURVIVED THE 1930's, 40's, 50's, 60's and 70's! First, we survived being born to motherswho smoked and/or drank while they were Pregnant. They took aspirin, ate blue cheese dressing, tuna from a can and didn't get tested for diabetes. Then after that trauma, we were put to sleep on our tummies in baby cribs covered with bright coloured lead-base paints. We had no childproof lids on medicine bottles, Locks on doors or cabinets and when we rode Our bikes, we had baseball caps not helmets on our heads. As infants & children, We would ride in cars with no car seats, no booster seats, no seat belts, no air bags, bald tires and sometimes no brakes. Riding in the back of a pick-up truck on a warm day Was always a special treat. We drank water from the garden hose and not from a bottle. We shared one soft drink with four friends, from one bottle and no one actually died from this. We ate cupcakes, white bread, real butter and bacon. We drank Kool-Aid made with real white sugar. And, we weren't overweight. WHY? Because we were Always outside playing...that's why! We would leave home in the morning and play all day, As long as we were back when the Streetlights came on. No one was able to reach us all day. And, we were O.K. We would spend hours building our go-carts out of scraps and then ride them down the hill, only to find out We forgot the brakes. After running into the bushes a few times, we learned to solve the problem. We did not have Playstations, Nintendo's and X-boxes. There were no video games, no 150 channels on cable, no video movies or DVD's, no surround-sound or CD's, no cell phones,no personal computers, no Internet and no chat rooms.WE HAD FRIENDS! , And we went outside and found them! We fell out of trees, got cut, broke bones and teeth and there were no lawsuits from these accidents. We ate worms and mud pies made from dirt, and the worms did not live in us forever. We were given BB guns for our 10th birthdays, made up games with sticks and tennis balls and, although we were told it would happen, we did not put out very many eyes. We rode bikes or walked to a friend's house and knocked on the door or rang the bell, or just walked in and talked to them. Little League had tryouts and not everyone made the team. Those who didn't had to learn to deal with disappointment. Imagine that!! The idea of a parent bailing us out if we broke the law was unheard of. They actually sided with the law! These generations have produced some of the best risk-takers, problem solvers and inventors ever. If YOU are one of them? CONGRATULATIONS!You might want to share this with others who have had the luck to grow up as kids, before the lawyers and the government regulated so much of our lives for our own good. While you are at it, forward it to your kids so they will knowhow brave and lucky their parents were. Kind of makes you want to run through the house with scissors, doesn't it ?
  15. Hi Mike. Its a Leyland DAF
  16. Upload your pictures to Photobucket http://photobucket.com/ it will resize them for you. Makes life a lot easier
  17. Its in the US and the last time that I heard anything it was owned by a Dick Lavanture
  18. Wheres the fish and the kettle smiley thing ma jig . True it wasn't about old tyres I thought it was a similar issue and warranted attention being brought to it. When it comes down to it the police might have a different view if they saw a tyre with cracks on the side walls. And if said policeman or woman decided that it was an issue you might not be to impressed with the points on you're licence and the fine.
  19. Make sure you stick Daimler Ferret in the listing I've bought them for a fiver before now on ebay
  20. I don't know how to put this my better halfs car came back from its MOT with an advisory notice that the rear tyre was due for replacement due to perishing. In regards to tyres its not just the condition of the side walls its the very structure of the tyre that degrades. It doesn't matter how thick the tyre wall is rubber is constantly degrading / perishing. Sticking a bag over the tyre won't stop the rot. Its up to the driver of the vehicle if he chooses to replace them or not but as in the case of the Ferret its usually the commander in the turret that bites the bullet in a roll over. The driver usually survives
  21. I seem to remember red DUKW's sat on the promenade rusting away at Southport or Blackpool.
  22. The original film wasn't completely accurate any way for at least one reason the 'bouncing bomb' was still a secret so all that was shown was a lump in the belly of the Lancaster.
  23. I saw that on the BBC News last weekend could I find it on the site to post a link up.. Thanks
  24. Girls still have that affect :-D wonderful!!
  25. Its annoying when they do strip things out its like saying you're not fit to make you're own mind up whether to use the off on/button if its racist, derogatory or offensive. Do we know why Guy Gibson called his dog the n word. Its part of history the rewriting of history can be worse because it overrides and becomes the official version of the story to the majority of the general public. Think back to the Hollywood version of U 571 and how it fictionalised the capture of the submarine by the US Navy in 1942 before the US had even entered the war. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/U-571_(film)
