  1. Pump the lift pump and loosen the center bolt in the fuel filter, re-tighten once all air removed, carry on pumping lift pump then go on to the banjo bolt on the bottom left of the fip, once you've done that crack off a few injectors and turn over, all the injectors normaly need to be cracked off during this proses, sometimes this does need to be repeated. MAKE SURE YOU DISCONNECT THE THROTTLE LINKAGE BEFORE YOU START/ATTEMPT TO START WITH THE CAB TILTED!!
  2. I would replace all damaged nuts/bolts and put god lashings of copper-slip on them, as long as all are to set torque settings or FT! all should be fine come their next removal. Things like my wheel nuts are regularly removed copper-slipped and re torqued.
  3. Some of the aerials you are after will be ECM related and are at the top of classified list, so you are not going to be able to get any authentic ones. the passenger side has a piece of right angle steel running up with it to just above the roof height where another flat piece is bolted on to create a v shape facing forward and down, know as a cheese wire cutter it is designed to cut any cables that mite injure the top cover. Boxes again depending if you fit radio ones or mean the ECM related ones.
  4. Great to see a fan of old skool blue oval on here welcome.
  5. thats what it would look like.
  6. That looks more squashed from the front and back rather than been blown up, the rear axle looks to be complete, and all studs for wheels look to be there, body shell is crushed and crumpled not ripped open.
  7. We still have a garage style set up for a quick exit, remember don't just cover windows but have a hessian screen running around the base of the vehicle so it is not as easy to size it and identify axle numbers etc.
  8. If you are setting it up whilst wearing CS95 make sure you reverse the buttons or worst case you will either be cutting holes in you net or ripping the buttons off, can get a little stressful when you keep getting snagged on the net. I have spent many an hour either repairing nets or combats.
  9. I know the French are not overly pleased if you carry large amounts of fuel in jerry cans, i believe you are allowed one 20l can. However the ferry company's don't always allow you to take any.
  10. As long as its set up on the same side as the rest of the harbor area's vehicles he will be ok.
  11. Hi John, sounds like a good collection you have there, welcome to the forum.
  12. Would love to have that m8
  13. And that will be out soon as the army adopt the new MTP uniform, which is already being issued out to different units.
  14. If the re-enactors or vehicle owners are using vehicles that have known history to the ss or are marked as belonging to the ss, during the display they have every right to wear the matching uniform these shows are deigned to tell the history of what happened. The ss do get tared with the same brush but you have to remember alot of them where young men fighting for the country and never knew of the atrocities being carried out many miles from them, alot of the ss where highly trained fighters who had tremendous courage in the face of the enemy and died fighting for the country. when people re-enact them they are portraying the troops fighting in the front line and not the camps. Of we did not have people dressing up as the enemy then who would we have beaten?? Alot of men lost their lives and we can not forget the reasons they laid their lives down for because that would be a true crime and insult to them.
  15. Most of our kit has just been for respray but the contract went out to a civilian paint shop, still came back the same over-spray on lights, reflectors, tyres, windscreen rubbers. Or in some cases they didn't bother to remove the masking tape, other wagons have bright silver or gloss black wings/doors etc for months after new panels have been fitted then its a quick slap of paint before they go on ex if the driver can be bothered more often than not you will see a land rover with a silver wing cutting around the harbor area.
  16. I have just got the Disco 2 TD5, i bought it and did a 500mi straight after buying it, and for 2t of vehicle its good on fuel. you can fit anything in the back, i know its slightly different from the 3 but they are lovely to drive and plenty of space.
  17. The best things i have found to repair all manner of faults is, e-metal, black nasty and green string, i have patched up multiple holes is engines, gearboxes and axles with e-metal. fulcrum seals are a common thing to go on mmlc, so if needed the oep 220 is drained and replaced with grease. my old man had a s3 landrover that became detached from its fuel tank after being filled up as the straps where rusted through, his boat fuel can soon found its self being transferred between the 2 for the rest of the time he owned it.
  18. As a VM in the army they are very popular but often very hard to acquire, excellent for use in the field. The main reasons for being popular are: easy to fit over lowa's as they have zips, loads of storage, look good and often rare to have, and the "trap door" in the back is a god send when on a cold winter ex and nature calls.
  19. I have bought my ww2 ones off ebay, one from America and one from Germany. i believe they have a fair few as i saw other nets from the same sellers popping up every now and then.
  20. The army put the cap on at about 15t because they wanted to play it safe and have smaller repair costs, i have been told the system will lift around 20t happly and could go to 25 at a push but that would run the risk of damaging the system.
  21. R.I.P Marc, my thoughts for his friends and family, very sad indeed.
  22. mash

  24. They may cut out but that is alot better than a hose going pop, i have seen this when we using an old volvo forks to lift and move several hysters, the back tyres of the volvo barely made a mark in the soft sand tho:nut:
