  1. Well done, i can second that on the mail front have had parts sent all over the place thanks to them, time for a nice beer, then a dent in your wallet when you fill her up.
  2. Comes close just fill up on our cheap(ish) fuel and tax free goods, it still doesnt equal out but means a cheaper first month back in UK. I do appologize for semi hijacking this thread and to add insult i have not even said well done to Harry, so well done mate i hope you have a long and touble free motoring life ahead of you.
  3. Oh yes it does come in useful sometimes, till it comes to getting on/off the rocks. Think my 1.2 feza was only £900 ful comp at 17
  4. That price is a little high eh, i thought the £700 for my Disco 3 and £500 for my capri was exsesive, still at 22 im doing better than my mate that still pays £1800 for his Z4
  5. Same as ours, all the emphasis is on the owner/driver, some people take care of their vehicles and some do not, thankfully those of us in this hobby pride ourselves on our vehicles being in top mechanical condition so they should never fall foul of an on the spot check from the police etc. I was thinking of a board over the tailgate, and have seen a nice headlight upgrade which i may fit, I had not thought of led conversion tho but will pursue these mods once i finally get a chance to work on her.
  6. I will agree they are a pain to get to. That sounds good for the front, but I am going try to make a removable light set for the rear (once i finally get a chance to work on her). Oh road tax is out now, paid on fuel, now very expensive at around £1.11 per liter :wow:
  7. Guernsey registered vehicles don't need an MOT . But i do agree that the lighting on dodge's could do with subtle upgrades for safety.
  8. For the hub leak it will leak if overfilled and also if are driven distance at speed due to the increase in pressure, we get a lot of trucks in the workshop with this and they always leave with nothing but a wipe over with a rag.
  9. You are doing well if it is holding air a few hours so 3 days is exceptional. I have spent many hours trying to find leaks on these trucks and never seem to pin-point them, rear couplings if rubber perished, unions all over the place mainly hidden behind looms and other crap. it really can be anywhere on them.
  10. Not a soldiers souvenir however a lot of equipment was left in the islands and my Gran's brother upon returning soon filled his parents shed with all manor of German equipment, he had full uniforms for and officers, regs and lufftewaffe personnel with weapons and piles of helmets and web equipment, sadly now all lost as he would often gamble various items. My Gran however does have an original photo real showing the unique German side of the occupation. On the other side of my family my Grandfather was deported to Biberach and came back with various items including a belt and buckle, a few rings and other trinkets.
  11. The SVR has the proper chassis/suspension set up. All the other SV's are more based on the road version than the more capable off-road version, there are a lot of differences to the chassis/suspension when you compare are EPLS to the Danish ones who have the full spec Military one.
  12. The new Vixen (snatch upgrade) are and auto box coupled to a modified 300tdi
  13. Goes to show restoration of almost any starting point is posable. Well done to all involved.
  14. Looking very nice, wish i had the time, money and skill to great toys like this.
  15. Hurry up he's on 5 and i have to find my hiding place yet.
  16. And with those tools on it could free up some room in the workshop for another toy :cool2:
  17. Every day is a school day eh, it is great to learn.
  18. Yes, the 58 pattern webbing was used until PLCE webbing was introduced after the SA80 was adopted.
  19. I believe DPM PLCE came out in 1995 to replace the OG version of PLCE, both where only ever designed to take the SA80 mags. The mag pouch can carry 6 mags in two compartments of three.
  20. Very nice, love to see the REME vehicles being used as intended.
  21. If you have the history of the vehicle then display her as she was, it is always nice to see something different, and by her being the original colour/markings you might even find someone recognizes her from when they crewed her.
  22. A perfect excuse to buy an lovely IMMLC or the MMLC..... hmmmmmmmmm
