  1. My favorite crapaud (Jersey local) did say he will post some pics of force 135 signage for people to print, sure he will be along soon. see he's good beat me to it
  2. Welcome aboard, don't worry there is a few of us youngns on here and I can confirm I've been told I was born in the wrong era too, and to be honest there are times I wish I had been.
  3. Cherrs Tony always a school day , we had many people join up with different regiments and also some with the Royal Irish however as I'm only starting to gain knowledge on the subject I can't say which. We even had blokes join up with the French army. Now I think we have taken over this thread as we have done before, I hope to meet you one day. So back to the thread who's coming?
  4. Is is it not to identify us from other arms? You leave my carrots alone! I need them for the bean jar. I respect you for honoring our fallen like that Tony, I am myself involved in portraying the history of the men that fought in the RGLI.
  5. I can second this, due to my work my dodge is still in restoration and my wolf is now my everyday wagon, so when I have a bit of time off its nice to give a friend a nudge and get out in an old beasty that would of properly sat in the shed for a few more months due to wifey giving him other jobs to do. I have even been issued a mates Morris C8 for the Guernsey lib day parade as he can't drive three at once
  6. Cheers for the heads up Tony, I doubt they will let me have it as I have a frequent traveler discount too. Ref your pics all look so good until I saw the final one, as for the "proper island" all I shall say is this:
  7. A j££p??.............. Only joking the more vehicles the better, and in british livery even better
  8. I will be, I have been issued a Morris C8 for the parade, my mate will also be dragging his quad out the shed, SWMBO has something lined up but she won't tell me yet :undecided: and I am trusting my WOLF to my dad. It will be awesome to meet some people and put names to faces, I shall be the one in Force 135 REME kit.
  9. Well done! It's has been a great read, look forward to the next build and hope to see mator in the flesh one day
  10. I bought my first MV at 19, a dodge wc52. Now at the ripe old age of 25 and I have added a 90 wolf to the collection, I am sure this will continue to expand as I have a strong urge for an old bedford mw, the main thing that limits me is storage and the fact Guernsey has limits for vehicle widths or I'm sure it would be a lot bigger
  11. Try this http://www.directorypatent.com/GB/279725-a.html item PDF http://worldwide.espacenet.com/espacenetDocument.pdf?flavour=trueFull&locale=en_EP&popup=true&response=8581661&FT=D&date=&CC=GB&NR=279725A&KC=A
  12. Looks good, might have to give that a try.
  13. As stated heat to cherry red, soak in plus gas or similar, heat, soak in brake fluid ....... Repeat this a few times then extract as stated above.
  14. I doubt there will be anything, sometimes units have an odd photoalbum laying around. If I get a chance I shall pop in and have a look.
  15. On tour ie Herrick no troops would travel in the back of a truck like that, as there is no protection from the IED threat, troops are moved around in armourd vehicles such as mastiff.
  16. Glad you have been able to trace the history, you will be glad to know that unit is still here.
  17. Hi Derek, welcome in, what area in Wiltshire are you? I do love the lightweight, pics are required :-D
  18. Shame those seats pictured above are incorrectly fitted! If you zoom into the rear of the seats you can see a yellow sticker, this indicates the location of wherea ratchet strap should be, they are secured with two orange (as issued) ratchet straps and I think it's 3/4 pins depending on the seat version as there is two types with a different amount of seats, 6 & 8 springs to mind.
  19. I guess a infrared digital thermometer is now on your Santa list, wish you a speedy recovery and if you do feel the need to work on the landy just don't get caught. I shall also take this point to say excellent job so far and keep up the good work.
  20. There is not a lot you can do with them other than try to tuck them under themselves, if not running with CES fitted they can be rolled up and the sliding clip can sit on the vertical bracket. I am however a little far away from mine to show you any photos sorry.
  21. 90 wolf's come with the standard wolf rims as the spare is, also it looks like the owner got a bit excited on eBay by getting the wmik grille and basket. The rest of it looks genuine.
