The rear Capstan winch on the eighty used to be mine, It's quite rare, genuine Aeroparts, though two of the lugs were cracked when I got it and had to be TIG welded back on. Very useful, really wish I had never sold it...

I think the first one was an amphib prototype, the second was designed for forestry use, never seen the third one before but I could make good use of it on the farm as a bale elevator.:-D

The third one was a special project politician removal vehicle.

the idea was you would park as close to the edge of beachy head as pos at high water.The selected persons would then mount the esculator the time to the top was sufficient for them to say there goodbyes.:idea:

I remember seeing one being demonstrated years ago, climbing over felled trees and straddling stumps, quite effective really.

A few of those Series One's were something to do with a electric company if i remember correctly. One of the amphibious looking Land Rover's was a prototype for the Australian army i think.
