AlienFTM
I'm still not convinced dear, it just dont look right :shocked::shocked: (God I'm going to be in trouble for that! Blame it on the wine!) Oh blimey he has just shouted at me from the office!!!!!!! I think you are right. It so reminds me of this: A lawyer arrived home late, after a very tough day trying to get a stay of execution for a client who was due to be hanged for murder at midnight. His last minute plea for clemency to the governor had failed and he was feeling worn out and depressed. As soon as he walked through the door at home, his wife started on him about, 'What time of night to be getting home is this? Where have you been? Dinner is cold and I'm not reheating it'. And on and on and on. Too shattered to play his usual role in this familiar ritual, he went and poured himself a shot of whisky and headed off for a long hot soak in the bathtub, pursued by the predictable sarcastic remarks as he dragged himself up the stairs. While he was in the bath, the phone rang. The wife answered and was told that her husband's client, James Wright, had been granted a stay of execution after all. Wright would not be hanged tonight. Finally realising what a terrible day he must have had, she decided to go upstairs and give him the good news. As she opened the bathroom door, she was greeted by the sight of her husband, bent over naked, drying his legs and feet. 'They're not hanging Wright tonight,' she said. To which he whirled around and screamed, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, WOMAN, DON'T YOU EVER STOP?
abn deuce
:rotfl::rotfl:You really need to go the other way once you have the Duals up front anything else is overkill , this is where you get the pulling power.:rofl:

R Cubed
I have gone off having dual wheels on the front of my truck...................... The steering is VERY heavy, can't turn it at all when stationary, now have arms like Popeye but didn't eat the spinach also lost all the feeling in them as well !!!! As for following ribs in the road well I am not even going there.. Very interesting experience though you should all try it once, only once. N.O.S.
You can't give up yet - take the wheels off, drive to a friendly sand quarry and put them back on, then pretend you've got to get off the beach PDQ!!
abn deuce
With steering by armstrong it's best to have the vehicle creeping in either direction while manovering the steering wheel , something those with "power steering" never think about unless the steering pump belt squeals
AlienFTM
The long lorry reminds me of something I saw recently, superheavy Russian Second World War tanks. If it wasn't on this forum, it must have been satellite TV. One such superheavy tank comprised what looked like (no contemporary pictures were available - somebody had built a 1/76 scale model) three separate KV1 hulls welded together to create one long tank with three separate gun turrets. First time it drove over a trench it split in two. Ho-hum.
Joris
There was a an article about such a tank in a recent CMV.
