Degsy Posted January 28, 2009 Posted January 28, 2009 Well what do you know, one ugly landrover caused all this activity, cheers folks.Love that picture of you Clive. The only diesel project i remember was the iceberg project, think thats what it was called. The Rover V8 diesel,i think recardo built it. Yes it was Iceberg and Ricardo were involved but after a lot of money and time had been spent on it the project was scrapped due to insurmountable problems. Quote
Guest catweazle (Banned Member) Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 One of my favourite sayings about rover was,Yesterdays technoligy today.I remember when they were asked why there vehicles were on leaf springs they replied, the safety of the driver and vehicle off rd depended on how fast it was driven,Leaf springs made it imposible for the driver to go fast off rd.Then they made the 110.WE had built a coil sprung landrover using a rr chassis and lwb body long before rover did it,I called it the Palladin as most of it came from the bin.The name stuck it belonged to Kieth Gott.Happy days ,got a picture somewhere. (Palladin.large dustbin on wheels.) Quote

Guest catweazle (Banned Member) Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 The Palladin,110 type Landrover,we built it on RR chassis and s3 panels. Long before the first coil sprung L/Rover,It towed a trailer a lot of the time and did well.Cant remember what it was registered as. Who recognises the bloke? Quote

I have a feeling that one belonged to Richard Beddall's brother (?), likely the QL's are Richard's. Later the Rover went to a chap I used to see, from around Church Crookham. Quote
