Also, great find, that pic of the open/canopied version,...............not seen that it before. This is an early K3, later versions had solid cab's like yours.

Andy,

That last photo of the open cab Austin is a K30 30cwt truck, when they changed to all metal cab it was then known as the K2 2 ton truck. The K3 was a 3 tonner.

I have any pictures of Austin K30, early withopened cab or late wit closed cab.

What I know, many early army lorries was 30cwt (1,5ton) but this wasn´enought after then came 2tons, 60cwt (3ton) and more.

The Austin 30cwt was start before ww2 and the production end was around 1941 after then was made only K2 (2ton) nad K3 (3ton). This lorries looks like similer only the capacity is bigger.

On my K30 are double rear leaf springs. I thing it was added for bigger useable.

Many this K30 left the british expedition army in Dunkerque. :-(

It is hard to get any parts.

When father bought K30, now my, he got with any parts from K2 Ambulance (on picture) yes it was K2 Ambulance. This Ambulance ended his life in scrap :-(( We have only axles, bonet, fenders, ...

7 years ago we bought near the Prague the spare engine, was in box.

I got any parts when I wisit the first owner in Czech. He got K30 in UNRRA help. (I have all papers from 1946 for this lorry)

And now I am buying parts on Milweb and Ebay.

Hi Radek,

i knew that your country had many fine exaples of WW2 dated German vehicles, but did not realise the intrest (or availability) of allied vehicles

The last picture you posted looks more like a fire tender than an ambulance ?

Hi Radek,

i can appreciate what you are saying, and due to the scarcity of British softskins in comparison to U.S. it is good to know that a keen effort is being made to restoe save these vehicles /parts.
