terryb
My first visit yesterday, and a glorious day. Nestled in the heart of the surrey countryside, away from the rat race, was the Capel show that really had everthing going for it. Stalls, re enactors, diaramas, battles and bangs in the arena, helicopters flying in to land. MVs with quite a lot of tracked armour. Entertainment, food court, funfair, beer tent-it really had just the right amount of everything with a friendly atmos. Well done everybody terry
Richard Farrant
Agreed Terry. I went on Saturday and it was good to meet old friends from MVT and IMPS clubs. The event was like a step back in time to how the shows and rallies were 25 years ago, the good old days! I had not been before and well worth the visit. Judging by the size of the car park it was extremely well attended. Well done to the organisers.
fv1609
My first show at Capel took 8 hours to get there mind you, but worth it. Bigger range of displays than I had expected. Although disappointed that there was only one Humber 1 Ton, lots of Land Rovers though. So probably will go again unless my Land Rover fuel gets too expensive. He reported almost exactly the same impressions, nice to hear some positive event news, a change from the horror show that W&P became. LarryH57
Yes agreed. I went with my friend for three days and it is really much bigger and better than my visit pre covid. Also some rare vehicles on show and i took 200 photos of all I could find including this Canadian Dodge;
the DT guy
Was our 2nd year on the trot last year took 1 Dt and Sherman this year took 2 Dt’s, Sherman and the hellcat as well. Awesome trip both ways and another brilliant 3 days at the show. Nice to see an increase in Ww2 vehicles to go along side the impressive amount of armour that was there this year.
attleej
We brought the REME Museum's Cent ARV purely because the organisers are so good to deal with. It is a great show! John
Smithy
Hats off to everyone getting vehicles out and about at the moment with the costs involved, but an even bigger nod to those with the wonderful loads mentioned above. Unfortunately had to miss Capel this year (Covid) but managed to go last year for the first time and was really impressed. It looks like an even larger turnout this year. Can't wait to return and catch-up with friends here in 2023.

G506
My first visit this year, with my 1938 Hillman and family. Just a single day visit, but really enjoyed it, well done to the organisers. Fingers crossed will be there for the whole weekend next year, with more vehicles.
AmmoMan
Camped there for the weekend and I think it was the best military show we have ever been to. John and his team ran it like clockwork, the staff were brilliant with clean loos, emptied bins, friendly help and an awesome environment. It has the feel of a small family show while hosting impressive quantities of quality armour plus the beer tent and evening shows were brilliant too. Can't wait till next year.....
LarryH57
I think comments from many who attended, that Capel show may become the new War and Peace show are very encouraging, and the organisers were well pleased with the turn out and variety of vehicles. However, this may mean more fields, and the heli field is the obvious choice if the local farmers cannot oblige. As a Lwt Landrover owner and attendee, I like WW2 vehicles rather than a show just of LRs and these WW2 oldies were quite large in number at Capel. I was speaking with the organisers about suggested improvements and said that they perhaps need to think of ways of informing MV owners that their turn in the arena is near. On the Saturday I turned up for my slot on time only to be told it was 30 mins earlier. (It wasn't and they were mistaken). I appreciate schedules run late but not earlier than programmed. Apparently the show organisers hadn't had enough money for a PA system, but even a guy or girl with a megaphone might help. The show organisers have no intention of charging £.. hundreds to attend, but really appreciate owners agreeing to arena participation. It makes for an interesting show for the public, if the commentator has lots to discuss. Edited July 6, 2022 by LarryH57
Rangie
This is tempting me South next year 😁 A 1600 mile round trip in a LR-FC is not to be sniffed at, especially with my back 🤣 Alec.
