Chris Hall
I’ve decided it’s spring now so you can get all the toys out again.
steviem
Reckon there's a cold blast on the way, she's only 5mins up the road. Pretty much Decals and a top coat to do.

7VHU
Mmmm… good weather for a dukw (or a schwimmwagen) or at least your hood up : )

TBH my hood spends most of the time stowed under the passenger seat, you could look for a second hand one for the rare occasion it gets used.
steviem
Yeah always my intention a new one would look so out of place, saying this I've just got a new screen canvas so need to weather it somewhat.

The screen canvas is easy to weather, just scrunch it up a few times and drag it around the floor 😁 adds patina…
earlymb
A G503 is one of those rare convertibles that looks good with both hood up & down ☺️ I never bothered to put it under the seat, I just roll/fold it around the hoops when they are down.
Jessie The Jeep
This year, for a different look to normal, I tried it with the canvas on, but the back folded up. At almost every show I go to, everyone else has the canvas off and screen down ( because they think it looks cooler, despite the fact that driving a Jeep in any configuration is cool ). I usually have the screen up and canvas on, just to make my Jeep stand out as different. Nothing worse than looking around a show and seeing 20 identical Jeeps, screen down, baseball bat and mit, camo net etc! That was one of the reasons I have the Flying Control look too. 2

steviem
Guys where is the screen canvas stored when not in use
Jessie The Jeep
You could strap it under the passenger seat, using the stowage straps under there. Here's my straps.
steviem
Thanks Steve, would these be the same length as those used for the canopy.
OzH
With careful folding, you'll get both the canopy and the screen cover under there and strapped in...

steviem
I quite like headlight covers , it gives a kind of mean dirty look rather than shiny glass.
steviem
Took the old lady out for a spin after the long winter storage loved it, screen down steady 40mph, all good until i pulled up at home and heard a clunking noise when moving slowly, I'll have to check it our
steviem
Got a general build up of crap through the cooling system, full drain or drop the rad rince and repeat which is better.also still got a knock on every wheel rotation drivers front, nothing obvious from the exterior.
Richard Farrant
Hi, The knock on your front wheel could be the drive joint in the swivel housing, to prove this without dismantling, remove flange on wheel hub then spin the wheel, if it still knocks then it could be a wheel bearing, if no knock I would then suspect the drive joint.
steviem
Now i need to learn how to check this.

steviem
Stupid question guys, need to drain the rad, the butterfly bung ain't shifting, which would be the best hose to pull, lower rad or water pump. Thank you.
