the poole ferret
Hi all. I,ve just joined the forum as we are in the process of renovating a MK2 ferret. I have had an interest in military vehicles since doing my apprentiship in the eighties working on light tanks & scout cars etc, so when the ferret came along it was like a step back in time for me. The ferret we are working on is almost complete. We have had it stripped down to the bare hull & shotblasted. Then we have been overhauling the parts as we go along and refitting them. We have been quite lucky as most of the parts have been servicable, so they just needed a clean up & lick of paint. The suspension was a bit of a pig though, most of the pins were siezed solid and needed a lot of heat & pressing to get out, but they came out in the end and were re-usable. One thing we do need is a temperature sender or thermobulb as I think is the correct term, so if anyone knows where I could get one it would be great to hear from you. Cheers.
