    Paul, I would concentrate my efforts on getting the right building ( if funds permit) as buying more vehicles to stand about in the rain or under damp sheets just creates more work as they deteriorate. Once you have the premises then everything can then stand under cover, it deteriorates at a far slower rate then, this is from personal experience of collecting and restoring MV s for past 34 years.

    Well done this beast needed saving. I first saw it at Beverley many years ago. Then up at Richard Wilsons in Newcastle who recently had it for sale. There are parts of another one at Nelson Greens in Bourne.

    The only additional Champ item I picked out was a headlamp bowl, where are you located ?

    I would not think that it is "tread skip" as the Champ is selectable 4x4. The road test should have been in rear wheel drive only. Make sure the lever in the passenger foot well is pushed forward. Champs suffer from various rear axle problems, worn out phosphor bronze bushes in the trumpets could be the issue. Where are you located ?

    How have you rigged the trailer air brakes to work, GMC's don't have air ?

    Then take the head off and give each piston a serious bash with a lump hammer and block of hardwood, you may need to give the bores a rub with fine paper to remove marks where rings have stuck.

    Should anyone want a spare submerged fuel pump I have NOS ones for sale at £110. I also have a chassis cab I am breaking for spares, back axles are for sale.

    There is an immaculate one in the Liverpool area still on the show circuit, will try and find the reg.

    Have you tried pushing ( or pulling) the engagement lever / knob whilst operating the directional control spool, as the dog clutch for engagement may be tooth on tooth.

    Yes most certainly an excellent turn out on the military section this year, did not take anything but nipped over on Saturday night to see a few people.

    Just renewed with Adrian Flux, Austin Champ, Scammell S26, Ward La France M746, Reo 2.5 Ton all on registration numbers, CET, M578, and M747 60 ton trailer all on chassis numbers £395. Also took out their offer of fully comp cover for me to drive any other vehicle up to a value of £20k that does not belong to me for £25 pa, this is useful to me as I have a company car so do not insure a a car personally.
