    Mark I am a little confused over which Scammell you have been offered, the 20 ton was a ballast tractor with a Meadows petrol engine wheras the 35 ton was a tractor unit with a 3.5 inch pin 5th wheel coupling for towing RE plant trailers, equipped with a RR C6 diesel, which would certainly pull your trailer, but with only 185 BHP on tap would be decidedly slow. Why are you not going to use on of the 2 S26 tractors you have ? John Riley

    14.00 x 20 wheels and tyres will fit, see Hamptons website, they have a couple already done. Not sure how much quicker but certainly a bigger rolling radius.

    It has original smoke dischargers on it, thats £350 to start with !

    You have not even given any idea where it is located. Why bother trying to start it, they will tow with an average sized agricultural tractor, just go and pull it out to an appropriate place for loading.

    Welcome aboard Dale, this is John Riley the owner of the M746, we met at Melvyn's house a few months ago. Nice to see the Extravaganza date is now fixed for first weekend in August, will certainly be there with as much as I can bring ! Last year was excellent. You need to get it advertised on here I am sure there are plenty of other owners who would love the opportunity to take their vehicles around the 17 acre play ground !

    You are not alone....exactly the first thought that entered my head ! Why risk all the grief of her indoors car having to go to the body shop because you were shunting the "tank" around !

    Just looks to me that the wet side behind the main seal is to stop the bore from rusting, no pressure would be generated there. seal A is just a scraper seal and stops the fluid leaking out.

    Steve How about asking the guys at the REME reserve collection at Bordon if you can store it there? Portsmouth to Bordon 27 miles Bordon to Folkestone 107 miles John.

    From the pictures I thought it was not even worth bothering going this time, made 2 chancer bids, one on the Detroit V8 which I had seen on a previous visit and the other on one of the Rapier ? winches, I got neither. Should anybody want a brand new pair of Hollarbones (thats how it is spelt on manufacturers label) I have a set for sale at £250, not the best picture but I think you get the idea.

    Nothing there for me over the last few years, just an opportunity to catch up with friends and have a chat. Its ok if you are interested in guns and dressing up in 40s gear and uniform. Went last year to specifically buy a Sterling for my CET but absolutely no one had one for sale.

    Sorry I didn't mean to offend, it was purely an observation on my part. Had it been your video I would not have passed comment, but for what appears to be a semi official video it could have been edited down a little. I actually skipped the last few minutes due to it being repetative only to go back again this morning and find the best bit at the end where they are being maneuvered into the building.
