  1. This Saracen was not alone 12 months ago! it is 1 of a bach of 20ish which have mostly been cut up. A better look round the yard would have revealed one more of them, painted in sand. They had all been stood for a very long time in the open and have stuck engines. I am very familiar with the yard visiting on a weekly basis, even had my own key for a few months whilst I worked on a vehicle which I bought from them. I was on first name terms with the two large Rotwielers which the night watchman would regullarly let lose!!!
  2. If you do decide to bid dont take any notice of guide price, take a chance and bid very low. If you have followed the tenders since they began you will see that most things don't get anywhere near guide prices !
  3. Sorry you all seem to have got the wrong end of the stick, I only drove the lowloader ! I have enough projects for a lifetime without another! In answer to the engine question, all Pioneers were built with Gardiner engines, it was only the Explorer which was fitted with Meadows petrol engine.
  4. Helped rescue this rather sad looking Pioneer from north wales a few weeks ago.
  5. With regard to fuel consumption on the MK3 ANTAR I can confirm that the one i owned and rallied between 1992 and 2005 mostly in the northwest apart from 3 trips to Stonleigh, regularly returned 5mpg without the trailer. With the Dyson 50 tonner behind it would return 3.5. round trip to Stonleigh was 220miles, work out the rest for yourself. If you really want to consume fuel try my Ward la France M746 which without trailer only manages 3mpg (Detroit Diesel v12 625bhp)
  6. What is the history of the Militant M3 wrecker, I think I used to own it ? I bought it from Ferrymasters in Warrington who had painted it in their colours (yellow) sold it to a chap who worked on sports cars who had somthing to do with TVR at Blackpool.
  7. There used to be one in Rush Green Motors, Hitchin, Herts is that the one you are refering to ?
