    We are in the process of doing the springs and running gear on our Commer with wire brushes etc, agreed its a hard job to keep going at! The cleaned up data plate looks great.

    A few conversations recently have got us thinking about a suitable trailer to restore to go behind our 30cwt Commer GS truck. I am just sort of dipping my toe in the water regards trailers really, I have had a good look round at different types and both my Son and I are quite keen on finding a Bowser, rare I know but its something to aim for.

    There are two things we are interesting in restoring next, a suitable trailer such as a bowser for our 1942 Commer and the boy would like to start his restoration work off on a wartime bike, something he can work on in the garage at home rather than down the yard with the lorries.

    Until that time where a door is found by miracle...you will give the repair a go I'm sure. And make a pretty good repair of it.

    Same thoughts here, a really nice British project. We'd like to tackle something like that but even now we have ran out of space.

    Out of interest what sort of project bikes do you have? My son and I are keen on a bike project when we finish the work on our lorry.

    Always had a soft spot for the 7V, my grandfather had one just after the war, a 1947 dropsider.

    Glad to hear you are still going, this last year has taken a huge toll on all of us. Also, sometimes a break from a project can really inject a bit of go back into what may have been a project that was stalling. I have felt like that myself before and I am sure others on here will agree. Its a hard old slog doing a restoration sometimes. Well done.

    The Q2 was produced as normal control and forward control versions during the war. The Q2s and the Q4s both followed the same cab design, most notably having the postwar treatment of the headlights being fitted in the front wings rather than on arms from the rad surround. We have a 42 Commer Q2 and the cab is the same as the Q4.

    Just read it on the news, seems there are an awful lot of people interested in buying parts og his collection. It says they are considering a reduced 50k euro fine on him, he would make so much more than that selling things off. I wonder how much the Panther is worth??

    Great looking project. Spot in to go for it, I would have done the same. Often a very nice or important vehicle comes up when your not actually looking and you cant say no.

    Yes, its a Phase 1 Hillman Minx. That front end styling is from 39-47.
