  1. Someone I know at work was chainging a stanley knife blade...they had replaced the blade and then proceeded to tighten the fixing screw with a battery drill!!! Lets just say stitches were required to her forearm.... A knife of any sort is unsafe in certain hands.
  2. The 1995 film Sahara, its more about an American saving our bacon but that's another story.... There is a scene where we first get to see the Germans approaching through the desert....in a White Half track by the looks of it... I agree with an earlier post, a lot of these films get the German vehicles wrong and I would agree that's cause of a lack of available survivors.
  3. I was watching a nice documentary about the Lancaster last night, it was talking about its development from the Manchester. But when it was discussing the Manchester it showed some period footage of the Manchester flying but it was actually showing Hampdens and this kept being repeated during their discussions.
  4. You could also add the Fleet Air Arm Museum in Yeovilton.
  5. I did recently see a documentary covering the Battle of the Bulge. I did note the re-enacted scenes had post war Reo M35 Whistler's ferrying the GI's about!
  6. There is a Gun Tractor roughly in the middle of the second photo that has quite a high windscreen that is flat, not angled and looks overall to be quite a tall vehicle. It reminds me very much of the Gun Tractor produced by Karrier.
  7. Out of interest, is the gun a Denix replica?
  8. Just got back in and turned the telly on to the last hour of Ice Cold in Alex. Lovely film and I have watched it many times but it still makes me smile when the closing scene comes on and the camera pans past a swb Series 1 Land Rover! Just made me start thinking about all those war films and how often the wrong vehicles are still left in shots.
  9. Quite a range of vehicles just in those few shots.
  10. Is the back body frame brush or spray painted?
  11. We have had a lot of issues with our welders but I have gone back to a Clarke Migmate gasless and the results are a lot better. The lower sections at the back of the cab needed particularly a lot of attention, the inner skin and the outer section were completely rotted, this was all hidden when the body was in place. This photo shows the fabricated section welded into place with a quick grind over prior to any fettling back.
  12. With the Commer now inside the access is much better and all our tools can be left out etc so the time down the yard is much better spent. This photo shows some more rot that we have just found whilst stripping out the cab trim. Its a shot of the Passenger door frame, this is the inside and as can be seen needs some fabrication/welding. Of note, the outside including the gutter is in very good condition.
  13. I really like the rifle holders👍
  14. Superb sight in a lovely country.
  15. Thought there couldn't be two 67Burwoods about😉
  16. I was just have a browse on ebay and saw a Dodge for restoration listed by 67Burwood....I take it that its yours? My Brother has one that he is restoring.
  17. As a militaria collector its just as well he didnt 'slip' and end up with a sword or similar up his backside.......
  18. A very good result after all that hard work getting it, I don't think many will be applying for the medal now though?
  19. Theres a lot of interesting stuff in general in the auction.
  20. That does fit the scenery of the facing bank in the photo.
