  1. Thanks for that, its a good article for reference.
  2. Really interesting thread but my its so confusing!!
  3. The front viewed truck is a Commer 30cwt, a very nice and rare shot. I also think the shots with them in the hooped body are also Commers. Lastly the little truck in the side biews is another Commer, a 15cwt.
  4. Superb bit of video, how lovely to see such a vehicle actually out on the road.
  5. I have to try repairing mine so I am taking some notes and tips!
  6. Surely they can't just keep deferring if it gets cancelled again for any reason. The reply you have had from them really isnt good enough.
  7. That looks very good to me. I will make a note of the codes.
  8. I was chatting to a chap at a local show on the weekend when we took our big Hillman along. He had just bought a civilian pre-war Hillman Minx that has some military magnetic transfers on it. He was telling me that he has decided to paint it RAF blue as he had seen some wartime Hillmans on Flickr painted that way. I wasnt rude but was chatting that during the war they weren't likely to have been painted that colour but as he said, there are so many restored RAF wartime vehicles painted blue he just wants to go with the others.
  9. They do note its only rumoured to have been a staff car in the auction blurb.
  10. Quick to sell it on after only a year...
  11. We were at a show yesterday a we saw a very well restored half track. Also noted was the very good looking RAF type roundel painted on her bonnet. My photos didnt really show the colours well but I will see if friends from the event have any better.
  12. Not getting too controversial but over the last 6 months I have learnt a lot of people have some pretty shocking views on life....enough of that though. I've learnt a lot more about fault finding tbh, being patient in tracking down why things, especially engines dont run properly!!
  13. Useful to know for us aswel as we will be adding one to our trucks bonnet.
  14. Well done! It looks great. Welding thinner guages is always tricky to me.
  15. I thought the £11-13k estimate is quite conservative for the Humber.
  16. Always nice seeing a vehicle actually do what it was intended to do in the first place!
  17. The buses need to be saved, I have seen much worse be restored over the years. Bus preservation groups would snap them up.
  18. We have recently been thinking about buying a Denix replica Lee Enfield to go along with our truck and for when we attend events. Obviously I am over 18, but when it says membership of a group needs to be proven what groups would that be? If we are not part of a re-enactment group what others would be deemed acceptable?
  19. Its looking really good, very good attention to detail.
