Thanks Jerry,  that was the way I was going to go, final question on this subject,  fender welting or anti squeak yes or no again I've seen both arguments some do, some don't.

i don't you have enough trouble just with the wings and grill then add the   anti squeak best of luck

Ball ache drilling those Jerry can holes, all front end built up, grill took some time matching up to the fenders, all lights working, fitted transmission cover with seal and master cylinder cover, I've got to work out holes for grab handle on the rear, then drivers seat resto, passenger seat and hood,  also need to get a rear seat.

Just trying a few fittings,  footrest is miles out at one hole, the floor has captive nuts,  should I elongate the hole, or drill another and use nut and bolt,

just spread the legs out a bit so you do not need to drill extra holes that's what i do

Footrest in, used a bar  gently push it over the hole,  another dry fit issue,  should my glove box have the spring,  the striking plate stops the catch, is it the right catch?

late jeeps had a much higher catch witch did away with the lock plate

Thanks Jerry I thought it was the catch, it will retract all the way if I use my fingers but not when pushing the button,  the spring was for earlier jeeps.

yes only early jeeps had the spring  the screw hole for the lock plate was left open also the data plates were screwed on with a pressed type nut you can get them i think jeeparts have them

Thanks Jerry, spent a few hours after work today fitted canvas covers over the gear shifts, push button locks on the toolboxes,  blackout light guard arrived I'll bang that on, slight smell of fuel when working around drivers foot well i assume this is normal.

The can may be knackered but on the jeep it will look superb.

Hi guys anyone know of any dealers selling the fender Black out lamp,  I have the outer frame,  I've checked most of the UK dealers.

Hi guys,  anyone know where I can get fender blackout bulbs from please,  12v. Either the unit is faulty or i have a blackout light feed problem,  I'll take the unit to work tomorrow and get it tested.

all the blackout lights were 6volt you need to get the same type of bulb holder as the panel lamp smash out the old bulb and then you can push the new holder in and fit it with a 12 volt unit

Hi Jerry I managed to sort it out, I simply had not removed enough paint for it to ground,  all working well now.

There should be a hole just behind the back of the  foot step  look this photo is from a m38 jeep but is the same other side

Thanks Jerry the hole is not visible it must have been covered during repair I'll try get the measurement.
